Exactly what my friends thought so .. I tried to define but all they say its better to just open a shop
Yeh and every time i talk about it to my friends no one listens. Someone changes the subject and just totally ignores me. But im one of the most popular guys in my group. A lot of my friends will do anything for me. Just not listen to me blabber on about the internet.
My friends and family see all of those late night "make money online" infomercials and think that is what I do... They think that I only work 10 hours a week and I'm a bum. When really I work all the time, on average 70hrs/week. When I try to explain to them what it is I do most of the time they don't understand. So I end up simply stating that I'm a sole proprietor business man/webmaster/web developer. I'd like to find an easier way to describe my profession. Any ideas?
general people are thinking internet is just for info its not for earn money or job , here in India we online publishers and developer s cant find girl for "arranged marriage" cause their family will ask whats JOB then we are speech less because they cant understand what we are doing ... they know only Doctors , engineers etc
Ouch. I can imagine that would be pretty hard. But if you showed them you were loaded from it, would they accept and allow you to marry?
The annoying part is when they ask what I do exactly and how I make money and they want me to teach them... I don't know how to explain, so I usually say "it's complicated"
Exactly Most of them here think that its some kind of automatic, but they are too lazy to learn it themselves, and then they are asking "how to... (very funny questions )"
My friends never understand no matter what I tell them and my mom keep insisting that I should find a real job. She said I'm doing nothing but playing computer *sigh*
my frds too think the same ... they actually don't know and not aware about the real income from net ...
Like here But I don't have stable bussines, just 'come and go' (earning me much, but still, not much enought for a living) So its like a dead point, who say Im wasting time here ... there are wrong, but not wrong enought
My friends think I am crazy and that nobody actually spends money on the internet. That doesn't bother me, I just laugh it off and say yea it isn't easy. They will never attempt to make a living on the internet because of that. On the other hand I have shown my father what I do and have inspired him to start an online career in his spare time.
im from small town in Croatia called Mala Subotica, it have 2000 people, most of people work on field and drink beers after that, some of them work as hard workers and also drink beers all day or after work, few of them have decent jobs but they are corrupt. I didnt want to tell anyone that im working online and that i own websites and crap since that is science fiction to them. they all earn more than me, they earn like 1000$ per month and i earn like 200$ per month since i only work 1 year on my websites.... So yes, if i tell them what i do they will think im insane...
Most of mine are more interested than anything. I think when I got started in Internet Marketing they were more skeptical. Once I was able to show them that it could be profitable (granted, i'm not rich or anything) then they were more interested. I recently released PriceASite.com with a coworker after he saw a couple of other websites I had were being successful.
