Two days ago I had great rankings on G for a bunch of keywords on all of my projects. Now 4 (Yes FOUR) of my sites are not even in the top 50. These aren't sites I created a week ago, they're months old, with lots of backlinks and good content. I've done all the SEO I could think of for these sites. I could handle one of my sites being sandboxed, but give me a damn break already. It just is a kick in the balls to work your butt off for months and just when you're finally seeing results, Google just 86's your sites to nowhere...for no good reason. I'm a patient person, but these fluctuations will put you out of business. Sorry for the rant!
Yeah, that would definitely be very annoying and frustrating! Do you continue to make SEO changes to your sites or have you not touched them for a long period of time allowing Google to find out where to place them. I have found that if you are constantly changing your sites, Google tries to catch up and your rankings fluctuate more drastically. If you feel like your sites are optimized, let them be for a while and see if they come back. If they don't move for a month or so, start making minor changes to the pages and ease back up. I don't know what else to tell ya. I hope things get better!
Could have something to do with the recent PR update ? The sites below you previously may have had their PR increased, for example a large amount may have gone from PR0 to PR#, this may have evened out the playing field. But some webmasters say PR doesn't matter and means jack - I believe different.
hehe, tell me about that. i've been doing some SEO for one of my site trying to get it ranked high. couple of days ago it was 77, then it went down to nowhere to be found. then yesterday at 54, today at 12 and then now nowhere to be found. but i noticed one thing, everytime it disappears, half a day later it comes back up being ranked higher. hopefully i will see it on the first page tomorrow
My ranking quit well now. Are u do something wrong? I think the Links are not the king, but the content.. I only have 1400 links,but some Keywords ranking well.. I SEO it about 3 months..
Same for me I am from 3rd position now down to 7, it keeps going up and down. Anyone knows when it will stop?
I can feel your frustration, I'm just starting and it happens to my sites as well, jumps weren't that much but still a concern
I've been doing frequent updates to all of the sites, but not everyday changes. I just continue to build good links and do some articles / blog posts here and there. The one site that really pisses me off I've been working for about 3 months to get near the top of the rankings and the other day it showed up #12, so I was jazzed..it was there for 2 days, now gone from the face of the earth. Same with a game site I've been working on. I worked it from 55th all the way up to 10th...was there for 2 days..now I can't even find it. I'm just frustrated because there's just no good reason for it.
If you want to know real ranking for your site. You should search through Google IP directly (Example http://66.249.93.104) or use SEOchat keyword position tool. You will see that ranking still the same but search results in Google.com is fluctuate, its looked like "roll back" to some weeks ago. You will see many sites which never been there for a year came up. This fluctuate is temporarily thing and will be ended soon. Your site ranking should be in position according to current ranking which be shown in SEOchat keyword position tool. You may found your site ranking sometime down to #1xx and come up to #2-5 and go down again in a short periods (about 1-2 days). You may found search results Google.com (english) in your country and Google.com in US based IP show differently. This is a real fluctuaute. Calm down and it will be ok.
