¼½¾ Sound Trigger for my (camera) flash ¼½¾

Check out some pictures from my new sound trigger!

A sound trigger being a circuit that activates your flash after a sound...a clap (not the clap thank goodness) , snapping your fingers, something dropping, breaking, etc.)

    alphabet pasta:

obviously a WIP (work in progress) but I am excited about the possibilities!

    thanks! :)

it's totally addicting. still trying to fine tune the flash placement, the location, and sensitivity of the trigger before I step it up to water balloons and smashing light bulbs :-D

    Nice :)

Looks like a lot of fun...

How much of a sound does it take to make it take a pic?

I can tell you're going to have a lot of fun with this Tim.. Would a droplet of water hitting something trigger it..

It's got a pot (potentiometer) that lets you adjust the sensitivity but I think anything less than the sound of that pasta dropping, would have the flash firing when I hit the shutter button...it is super sensitive.
it triggered one time when my knee popped!

A gun i'd guess would. A water droplet would be good (you could get a decent pic of water hitting something...like that other one you showed me when someone bought it)

    tks :)
Y, need to find me someone that has some

that's where the fine tuning will come in, I need to be able to get it sensitive enough to hear the drop but not my shutter on the camera!

How did you get that other pic before anyway? I've always wanted to take a pic like that, just never known how to get the right moment. Did you just set it to take X pics at a time or something and choose the best one?

yep - part planning, part luck - you just take a BUNCH of them and hope you get a few good ones. Shooting lightning is also like that :)

the last time I did drops (haven't posted any yet) I was actually trying to time them via when I saw the drop go past a certain spot...had pretty good luck with that method surprisingly enough :p

here's a contact sheet of those actually

    unedited of course ;)
