If you had your way, one of those forums would be Wacko University, AnthonyCea would never be banned, and we would be able to post up to 1337 smiles in a post!!! *hint*
I think diggs and stumbles should stay. I mean whats wrong with them??? just free traffic from one to another
man.. im the unluckiest person on digital point i was about to buy a VCC when i thought i'd wait for more offers... now i have to wait till im 18 so i can verify my paypal...
Thankfully, I am in the 10% genuine list!!! I made a good business selling VCCs... Why people came to me again and again, was due to my superior services... Looks like i gotta find some other way to earn my bread. No comments on Crazy rob, I'd say he did his job well... Thanks! Rk
Well actually and technically its a yes and no. Review the guidelines http://spm-free.group.stumbleupon.com/forum/86270/
Using the same logic, selling links amounts to gaming SE's. If all these are banned, I guess people will just move on to other forums and still continue doing the same ie. selling links and stuff. This would only turn out to be a lose-lose situation In the end DP would just end up losing some members. The USP of DP is - its the number 1 free marketplace on the internet. I guess as long as people don't do something illegal, DP should not ban things like selling links, Digg/Stumble exchanges and so on. My 2 cents....
Let me say how much I appreciate and respect the other mods. In my eyes they all try to work to better DP.
Ok let the users who do digg/stumble exchanges to move on to other fourms. Dp is not the only huge webmaster forum to ban digg/stumble exchanges, Namepros admins and mods banned the exchanges in July 2007. And Dp should ban exchanges if it goes against the TOS of another site. DP has a reputation and the mods are doing a great job of upholding high standards. Why do you think so many people flock to DP? For the most part to try and learn something or to buy/sell legal and lawful items vs a small handful who peddle items that are either illegal or go against the TOS of a website that they are trying to manipulate. Banning certain things will harm not DP whatsoever. I remember a time when here at DP that there wasnt a gross amount of selling and buying VCC cards at all. The mods and admins are bringing the bar of quality back to a reputable level again. Something that DP was known for when I joined.
In my opinion he's doing the right thing, such ads have always been so annoying and I've always hated them! Thank you for making it a rule!
Great news on the VCCs and not a moment too soon in my opinion. Next I would like to see trading of all virtual currency banned. Apologies to all the honest PayPal/egold/MB traders, of which there are many, but I'm sure even you'd agree that too many of these deals go pear shaped.
Agreed, banning VCC's was a step in the right direction. What makes me a bit nervous is the following line in Rob's announcement Guaging by the responses received from DP members in this thread, I guess we are soon gonna see Currency exchanges and Digg/Stumble exchanges banned as well. Is anything else on your list Rob?
