Kumble has just struck his 600th wicket yesterday against the Australians. Do you agree or disagree that he is the best Indian cricket player in 15 years? If you disagree, who in your opinion is the best? Cheers, Coco PS...my apologies. For all USA and non-cricket followers, Anil Kumble is the current Indian captain. He just became the 3rd person ever to reach 600 wickets. It would be the equivalent of someone being another Roger Clemens, Greg Maddux, Cy Young. It's a difficult feat to achieve. It takes several summers and great skill to persevere in the heat to get people out. Australia is arguably the best cricket team in the world and have been for many years. Imagine back in the Boston Celtics days when they won like 11 of 13 Championships or Michale Jordan's Bulls team that won 2 three-peats? Australia are those teams in cricket. Very very hard to beat and very very good. That's why everyone loves to beat them....well, when they can. Hope that helps.
I need a third option... who is Kumble? They don't mention much about cricket on SportsCenter. Kinda like soccer... nearly the whole world plays, except the United States.
India 330 & 52/1 (11.0 ov) Australia 212 India lead by 170 runs with 9 wickets remaining Stumps - Day 2 India RR 4.72 Last 10 ovs 52/1 RR 5.20
Yeah! I do agree he is the finest asset of Indian Cricket for over last 2 decades Good to see that he become captain! of Test side and doing good job
Thanks jezzz. I wish I could watch a match between India and Pakistan in Mumbai or Karachi. That would be memorable. My favourite bowler from Pakistan would have to be Wasim Akram.
Kumble is indeed a great bowler and a good captain as well. I was really amazed by his bowling when he took all 10 wickets against Pakistan (don't remember the year).
There is this guy called Sachin who is regarded as the best batsman of his generation. Sachin is the best batsman of his generation, maybe second best. The same cannot be said about Kumble. He is one of the best, but never a top 3 player.
