Here are some tips that I have found to help make my blogs more profitable. Enjoy.

    1. Write your blog posts for the READER and not the search engines. Of course, you can't forget SEO, but make sure that your posts are going to be easily read and enjoyed by the readers. This will dramatically increase your blog's subscribers.

    2. Keep your blog updated. You don't have to make a huge post every single day, but posting good content often will assure your readers are happy and constantly visiting your blog. Also try to stay focused on the topic of the blog. I have seen one to many blogs that have so many topics on them. This will confuse your readers.

3.Monetize your blog. I see a lot of blogs out there that are have great potential to be good money-makers, but they aren't effectively monetized. I monetize my blogs with Adsense and affiliate offers. I focus more on the affiliate offers than Adsense. To me, Adsense is more like an extra benefit. No matter what you choose, if you have a good blog with consistent, steady traffic, monetize it.

4.Get Traffic. This is a whole other topic in itself, but I will just stay to the basics. Without traffic, all your hard work is wasted. You need traffic! It's your blog's lifeblood. There are so many ways to get traffic to your blog. My favorites are articles, squidoo/hubpages, social bookmarking, and commenting on other people's blogs. All these methods are easy to do and FREE. Not to mention you will be getting good backlinks to your blog as well. This will help with your blogs search engine ranking thus further increasing your traffic.

5.Add an opt-in on your blog. You'll be surprised as to how fast your list will grow from this. The more your list grows, the more money you can make.

    Hope this helps some people.

I don't agree with the 'stay on one topic' fully but the other tips are sensible.

What do you mean by opt-ins?

the problem with blogging is you don't get comments. Only the famous bloggers receive comments. i see lots of people paying for comments (in dp forums).

If the blog post is worth of comment, then surely visitors will leave the comments.
