I have had great success with google and to me...its easy. (only problem with google..... its exspensive to SEO correctly, and they like that) With yahoo however. In my 3 years+ and 50+ sites I have SEO'ed..... and 50+K spend, still yahoo is a crap shoot. I can spend 10 dollars and get top 10 and spend 1000 on a site and not get it. What does yahoo like. yahoo links? Traffic? I mean, I always get it in the top 10, but.....only god knows why. Any yahoo people out there, who know. Its not the back links, or the kind of links I think. Any body have some good advice. Also any intel on MSN?
I've posted this a few times here.... This has worked for me. 1) Aged domains. 2) Long domain registration. (Over 1 year). 3) ICRA rating/content/tags. (This is free, just add a special meta tag.) 4) A privacy policy. 5) No hidden/blocked info on domain registration. I have found that Yahoo and MSN are all about "trust" . I'd like to see some of your sites (PM) if that would be ok to help validate my theory. Or, if thats not possible, at least PM me the main keyword/phrase you are tageting... Let me know... I'll trust you if you'll trust me... I'll show you one of my sites (And 1 keyword phrase) ranking G,Y & MSN page 1 or 2 for a decent keyphrase. Beleive it or not, MSN is my biggest organic traffic driver right now.. Just let me know, as I would really like to validate this theory. I only have 5 sites, and 1 is in a super competitive arena (dating) and I cant use it to validate this. You can get on page 1 of Yahoo for a competitive phrase without paying the $275 (or whatever it is) to get in the Yahoo Directory. Also, my site that ranks well, is a PR2 and is not in DMOZ either!!!
pm sent I have done 20 plus sites with my companies money. And a ton of it. Thats the only thing that works. Trial and error. As you know....Dont believe what you read. Lets talk Anyone else?
MSN is driving good traffic to my new hotel blog, but it indexed only 5 pages, when I found that out I added more content but MSN does not index it. tried site submit forms etc. does not work. @budhanes, what you say sounds interesting, I would like to make my contribution to this experiment you do.
Tell me as you mentioned 4) A privacy policy. 5) No hidden/blocked info on domain registration. Privacy Policy, you mean....within your website? I sell vitimans. so..... Let me know. My word scores a 66. But I PM'ed you my Term. Thanks
Yes, check out alot of websites and usually they have a "Privacy Statement" or "Privacy Policy" link at the bottom. It's just another page on your website. You can find free privacy policy generators on the web and just input your info, ftp it to your site, and add a link.
I just created a site a few months ago. It is called www.eriecomputerman.com. This site appears as #3 on yahoo, above a company that has been their for 30 years. I do not have Privacy Policy or any of that jazz. I made hidden text in the background of my page that says. computer repair erie pa pennsylvania cheap network blank pc repair made easy. Computer repair computer repair If you highlight my page you can see it better. For some reason this has shot me up on yahoo. Google...not so much. But yeah under computer repair for erie pa on yahoo it works good for me. Not sure if google is penalizing me, cause Im on page 4 for them. Computer Repair in Erie PA
