How much for a custom made "Mafia/Pimp" Game?

I'm interested in knowing how much you'd charge to make a custom game script, similar to all those mafia games out there.

I'm not looking for one of those scripts that are already done, but I'm interested in knowing how much a programmer would charge to make a custom script (and hand over the rights to it) and how long it would take to do it.

I understand that an exact price and deadline is tough to give with so little details, so I'm only looking for a rough estimate, to get an idea.

    Thanks in advance.

Please send further details about this project. What features are you in need of?

I honestly appreciate your interest. However, I only wish to know a rough estimate of the money/time you'd charge for such a project.
Let's say the script would be more or less the same as most of those Mafia games out there.

$2,500 .. 1 Month .. It would be scalable (allowing use by many users) and OOP because for it to function correctly with a large user base and execute quickly it just needs to be using OOP.

Watch out for folks that give you magical timeframes. They dont count planning, sleeping, or beta testing. 2 weeks for an online rpg, lol.

I guess it really depends on how fast the coder is, how much time (s)he will spend on it daily, and how many features will be included.

Um It comes down to testing, testing and more testing. Excessive daily hours can end up in a negative. The faster the coder goes, the rate of errors *usually* increases. Overhead could make a difference on price. If the deal is for complete rights, anything under 5k/month delivery is a steal IMO.
If I was doing this, I would look to hire a tester as well. I wouldn't want the guy making $$$/hr testing mundane features. That's the job for the guy making $/hr.

If you are that fast, then you took shortcuts that will hinder the run of the software.

Anyway, I am already coding online RPG gangsta game for someone here. So, no time. Odd that I have had 5 requests for this lately. What happened to pacman? lol, just kidding.

Hit me up if you are not in a huge rush on this.

Dont be silly now, remember you get what you pay for, $5k is what this should cost and thats the minium. People who state any time frame under 1-2 months are either lieing or have a team of programmers.

If you want a quality product which I am sure you do, dont go with the cheap people who make unreal promises.

Thank you. I looked up the definition of cheap on google define:

    "of very poor quality; flimsy"

$5k is actually what I charge for RPGs. I am doing on eright now as a matter of fact.

A programmer puting an appropriate amount of time and quality control will always charge a fair amount of money for the project.

As these guys have mentioned the price should reach atleast $5000 if you want anything that will be worthy of gaining a profit of.

My game (http://www.r-fate.com) took more then 3 months of literal coding man-hours to create and i still consider it incomplete :(

You do work with some inferior testers man, I've meet testers that get paid 600$ a day, those are the real deal.

My game is about 18 months old www.finalassassins.com and it still needs work on it and bugs are sure to pop up when untested mods are added. My advice would be do one thing at a time, do not add more things unless each mod on there is completely bug free and totally secure.

Even though the game may come with a certain amount of scripts on it they will still need to be debugged before opening it to the public.

Do not make the mistake of opening too early as you will just be making more expense for yourself when users are exploiting the game and the bugs just keep mounting up.

In short....2 weeks is a joke, don't be in a rush and you will save yourself a lot of agro and expense.

    Good luck.
