I see many predictions floating around about what would happen in 2012 for countries/continents like USA,Europe, Middle east, India, Israel, I just googled to see whether such predictions exist for China, Surprisingly I am unable to find any prediction, Did china's wall block nostradamus future eye ? what local predictions are available in china for the year 2012?
Predictions for China... Hmmm... Let me gaze through my (Liquid) Crystal (Display) Ball... 1. Chinese economy is an export based economy, dependent to a large extent on US to sell its goods. US economy will slow down, and so Chinese economy would be hit bad. 2. With economy no longer booming, people would become desperate. More protests in China for Democracy because people are bored. 3. Finally, in 2015, conflicts between Rich and Poor would grow to such an extent that no one wants to live in China. The Rich will migrate to India, the Middle class will come to Australia, and the poor will go to USA for jobs. 4. Finally, the entire country would be empty and deserted. 5. Aliens from the neighbouring Andromeda Galaxy would come and occupy China. 6. Then, Earthlings will launch a new war of liberation - "Operation Alien Dessert" in order to lick aliens out of China. 7. Unfortunately, Aliens have good Air Defence Systems... Ops...! What a Nightmare!
In 2012, China should have the ability to defend and defeat the USA air craft carriers that are the mainstay of USA forces overseas. I think it should be before 2012 according to some estimates. By the China should be the 2nd largest economic power in the world. Taiwan may have to obediently become a province of China since USA military powers are not sufficient to protect it anymore. There may be another one country two system formula for Taiwan. These are provided that China manage to settle its own problems, the rising gap between the rich and the poor, the clamor for democracy among the growing middle class as well as the severe pollution in the country.
The Chinese economy is largely dependent on US $. If US's economy goes down, so does China's. I think there will be no immediate threat (in 2012) to China, though many people are doubting their political stability.

Exports to America account for 2% of China's GDP. China's total exports rose 25.7% to $1.218 trillion in 2007. In 2007 the US economy actually contracted when you account for inflation.

2012? The US will be part of a greater China. By the time this whole or deal is over they will own our ass!
I was thinking both countries may start to feel that they are similar to each other so much that they decided to merge either USA into greater China or China as the 51th State of the United States of America
