How fast is your internet?

I just went to http://www.speedtest.net and must say I am pretty amazed by the results! I knew my internet was fast...but just didn't know it was THIS fast. How fast are you guys?

My DSL IP's are down so they will replace them in a few weeks. I should get much better service.

OK, you probably know this already but for those who don't, speedtest.net is showing you your speed in kb/s and not kB/s.

The difference between the two is that the first is Kilobits/s and the second is Kilobytes/s. Also, 1 byte = 8 bits; so, that means your download speed is 9784 kilobits per second and in terms of kilobytes, your speed is 1223 KB/s. You have slightly over 1 MB of download speed.

I haven't checked with speedtest.net but mine is around 2mb/s (megabits) which = 256KBps

My internet sucks. I rule though.

My new internet gets up to 12mbps, but this doesn't reflect on my stats because I am 400 miles from the closest server...lol

Im at my parents' house right now which has satellite and this is what I have



When we first had it it was fast... going at 1.5MB. Now its slow as can be.


At my house I have road runner and its usually 6MB down and 500kbps up.

 

Wow immortality...that is insanely slow. Less than 100 miles from the server yet your ping is 736 yikes! My parents have satellite too. When I was visiting them over the holidays I hated to even check my email. Takes forever just for a simple page to load!

 

Oh my god, immortality that's one heck of a DL and UL speed, worst than dial-up! I think I can't get in DP with that speed in my place.

Yeah its utterly ridiculous. Its not slow for surfing regular webpages (the pages take about 5 seconds to load) but if the site has more than one image I wanna cry. It takes around 15 seconds to load MySpace.

 

I do love your upload speed. I wish road runner had higher upload half a meg just doesnt cut it for me.

 

Isn't there any other provider? Why don't you switch?

Wat a large difference

 

This house is out in the boonies, we have either dial-up or satellite as our choices. There is Hughes net and we had that before but it turned to shit... just like wildblue has. I am only at this house until college starts then I can go back to my house in the city. I cant wait.
