I need some feedback on links.links.com

    Hi guys,

I decided to put up LINKS just to analyze the behavior of visitors at Digg-like sites. I am using Corank, which is a white label provider for these kind of sites. The installation was very fast and painless - especially when compared to trying to get Pligg to work.

It is my second day in operation, and I am getting about 400 visitors/day. Which is O.K., considering it is a subdomain. Pages are also getting indexed, which is also O.K.

But now, I need to come up with decent subject matter. The focus of the site was suppose to be on hot new sites, but no one seems to care. Any ideas, of other subjects that may be of interest? Or is this type of social networking way over done, and I should move on? If the idea experiments well, I am willing to put some investment into developing it further. But if it is a dead-end, then I will just move one.

Give me your honest, brutal opinions!

    Thanks for your help,

    Rich

Well if you are going to focus on sites and now just individual pages you should make a few edits and change 'Submit Story' to 'Submit Site'.

Thanks much for your suggestion. It had not at all occurred to me. As it turns out, Corank makes it easy to change that word. Good design on their part, and thanks for the suggestion.

    Hi guys,

Just a brief update, which may give you some numbers to feedback on. After the first day up, there was some positive and some negative signs.

    The good:

    1) Traffic was good at 550 unique visits.
    2) 20 members have registered.
    3) Google indexed the site and each page.

    The bad:

    1) Average time was on the site was only 5 seconds.
    2) No one really voted except some friends of mine.
    3) Very few repeat visitors which would indicate lack of interest in the subject.

So I am pondering, whether a site like this, that concentrates on bringing visibility to new sites, is really of interest to anyone.

    Feedback welcomed. Thanks.

    Rich
