I think a moderator just deleted my post on Ron Paul and Foreign Policy and I just would like to know why?
That really isn't fair, it looks like CR merge only threads started about Ron Paul that may not paint him in such a positive light but the Pro Ron Paul Post are separate.
It's a campaign update thread I have been maintaining for months, with a lot of hard work and articles. It's been trashed by others numerous times, and I have still tried to make it a single repository for the latest campaign news. I don't approve of the Ron Paul spam for or against tonight, but that's the sort of reaction that GTech provokes when he goes on a petty tirade.
That was the impression I was left with. I've been here for years, and this is the first "thread merge" I've ever seen in P&R. The title of my thread was completely distorted from what it was.
I still don't get why my post which not really bashing ron paul but pointing out the flaws in some of the points he argues was merged while ncz_nate post about Ron Paul eating a hamburger is separate.
Hard to say. I suspect someone probably was upset that information was presented about their candidate and reported it. I've never seen a thread merge here before. I've certainly not seen any of the threads started regarding Huckabee being merged.
Reported on what grounds? That it was insightful and stated a point why Ron Paul’s Foreign policy is wrong.
Again, hard to say. It would be speculation. I will point out again, I have never seen a thread merge in the P&R before. That doesn't mean one hasn't happened, but it's a first for me.
I think the minute threads start getting combined/deleted/titles changed, there needs to be a clear policy in place dictating the reasons for it. So far, the only changes in the P&R forum that I've witnessed is the deletion of totally racist/derogatory/personal threads, and I've liked that some way or another, this board always manages to clean (or at least bury) the crap that flows through it. We need to have clear policies in place once that sanctity is broken.
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=6114207&postcount=5 As you can see from my post it wasn't racist/derogatory/personal threads or to add to that spam. I agree with you that if threads are combines/deleted/titles changed a reason should be given.
Yea, I think that was BS, it was probably one of the best posts regarding a reasoned, intellectual attack of Paul's viewpoints, the kind of thing I've been asking for here for months. Crazy Rob, w.t.f. man?
The thread merge and title change are a total screw up. The result makes no sense and everybody's efforts are now relegated to a co-mingled mess.
