What Do You Do With A $500 Off-Site SEO Budget?

    Hey all,

I want to blow $500 on off-site seo. I am trying to decide what to spend it on. Some options I am looking at are:

1- Buying site links/ blogroll links
2- Buying articles to submit to article directories
3- Buying sig links in appropriate forums
    4- Buying and running xrumer
    5- Paying an seo firm
    6- Buying directory listings
7- Going to the casino to see if I can turn it into $5,000,000! :D

Except for #7, do you have any thoughts to share? What would you do with the $500? Have I missed any? Are any of these more effective? A better deal? A lot of trouble?

Thanks all! I really do want honest advice on this, and I will likely be applying it very soon.

    ;)

I would well pay an SEO firm if you dont have the time if you do. Then i would do #1 and buy links relevant and high in PR and links. I would also if it is a tutorial site or article website or something that informs people using articles e.t.c spend about 100-200 dollars on articles if your no good or cant be bothered writing them. Apart from that, thats about all.

    Will.

I'd bank it, than, when I was sure what I wanted to do with it, I'd do it than.

Be carefull, you could actually "blow" that money promoting a website quicker and easier than you might think!

I gave my input on your site in another thread... I still think you need some time, you have a decent seo'd site, money cant buy time... You'll do good for "crawfish" just wait and see!

BTW- I'll give you my sig space for free if you want. (Until I decide if I want to do anything with it). I wont put your link up till you give me the go-ahead... Just PM me if you want it...

Well, 500 bucks won't do alot, but 1 and 3 are certainly not a bad idea.

I haven't made the decision yet. Trying to right now.

For those that would use seo firm, how much can you really get for $500? Wouldn't xrumer or permanent links be a better option?

I wish a pro would tell me if directory submissions are worth the time. I know dmoz and yahoo are, but what about the thousands of others? Will someone help me with that? I hear so much conflict on it.

    Thanks for the offer man!

Article reviews is certainly an option I am interested in. It sure would be nice to find a few that get real traffic though. Almost all of these blogs are just built for bots, and nobody ever reads them. Know of any blogs in food category that does ppp that has real traffic??

    Thanks man!

    ......................

BUDHANES: Man, your offer to loan me sig link is unreal. I can't believe it. Thank you so much!

Gtull personally I do not think you should blow of your money just yet. As a matter of fact you may not see too much benefit. What I have learned from experience is that you can get the same if not better results without spending a dime on SEO. I would hate to see your money wasted.

Instead concentrate on two very important things. First constantly update your website with articles. 2-3 articles everyday. Artciles rich in keywords - around which your website centers. And you know the other stuff, meta tags, title, filenames, etc. A SEO company would do the same. Just about all the tricks you know of are used by SEO companies as well. Some may use black hat techniques such as massive hidden articles.

But if you do not have the time, then pehaps you could look into SEO companies. But from what I have heard a good reputable SEO company would cost you much more.

As for articles. I wouldn't buy them because you really do not know if the company will not sell the same article to someone else despite their claims. And I really don't think buying any links to directories will help either.

The best option for SEO is to invest your own time. You can have your own unique articles and do not need to spend massive amounts of money on SEO.

If you really want to spend the money, why don't you try advertising. $500 is a lot of money. Many blogs with thousands of visitors will be ready to put up your advertisement for just $50. Why not consider using the money for purposes other than SEO, because I do not think SEO is a good option to spend money in. Hope that helps.

I think it all depends on the niche of your site -

if you can benefit alot from forum community - then purchasing good forum sig links might prove to be very valuable.

Else for lesser competitive niche (and keywords), you can just do the SEO link purchase yourself - that should save some money

Or mabbe set aside some for a good press release ?

I appreciate your sincerity and advice. I need all you can give, and maybe a bit more. ;)

I have considered doing it all myself. I "think" my on-site seo is pretty tight. It would be great to have a guru give it a blessing, but I think it will work.

As for off-site, I know what to do. But it would be really nice to have some help. I am doing this for fun really, and getting some serps that stick would be about the most fun thing I could think of (well, almost lol).

That being said, I am willing to pay a few bucks to get what I want. The real question for me is what to spend it on. If nothing else, buying tools that will make this easier for me to do myself (to speed it up) would work.

I am also concerned about paying for content to submit to article directories that is not really original. It could just as easily be spin junk, and I would never know. That is a real problem. Perhaps a DP seller with a high rep would be the best source, if I do this.

I am also concerned with directories. It seems that most of these do not stick for very long. They lose their index, or pr, and you just sunk some bucks into the toilet.

That being said, I am still interested in getting help. Just not sure where. Your advertising is a thought I have not considered.

    Thanks!!!
