    Hello all,

I added a Wordpress blog to my website as a sub domain to my main web site. It has been up and running for around 3 month now and it has got a PR of 4, where my main site only has a PR3, that's been up for around 2 years!

I don't suppose anybody would have any pointers as to what I can do with this to benefit my main site. I am using the body of my article text to point back to the main site product pages where relevant using Anchor Text. I am only using 2-3 back links per article at the moment as I am unsure if my site would get any benefit from these backlinks as I am linking to myself.

    Thanks All.

The main site is http://www.cosmeticsfairy.co.uk/ and the article site is http://cosmeticsfairy.co.uk/articles/

I have things like headspace installed to handle the SEO of pages, but that is where my limited knowledge ends.

I just want to ensure I am making the most of this to benefit my main site as I do not want to waste an opportunity. It looks like WP could potentially overtake my main site for SERP's and this could effect sales, so using it to boost the main site would make sense.

    Thanks again,

    Sarah.

That is a good idea. But the type of articles you will write will influence your sales. Don't write informative articles only. Instead use informative articles which incite or convince a person to buy a product. You could start of an article with a scary proposition and it's consequences then work to show the solution in a product you sell.

And yes most websites use a blog to increase sales to their main website. And the reason is because a sales website is not updated unless you are adding 100's of products every day with new descriptions. Search engines need websites which are informative and are updated. So add 2-3 articles daily to your blog but use a tone of informing and convining. That way not only will you'll blog get high rankings you will get more converting visitors.

And no linking to yourself won't help. Oh and try to pick a keyword when writing the articles so that you have keyword dense articles. Also submit articles to ezinearticles.com and you should get visitors and customers from there. If you need any more help just follow up. Hope that helps.

I have added obsocialbookmarker to this site, but it has 39 book mark site options. I would like to offer up 8 max.

What in your opinions would be the best ones? I am considering; Del.icio.us, Facebook, StumbleUpon, Squidoo, Reddit, Furl, Digg it, and Spurl

    Your views please.

If I were you, I would link back to the main site from the articles of the blog using different anchor texts. So when I write an article about eg: acne, and on the main site there is a product that helps people with acne problems, than I would link from the article (using "acne" word or a similar, long tail keyword) to the products page on the main site.
