I am a very successful individual, yet probably much younger than you and probably more successful than you. Do you see me selling my signature for peanuts??? your preaching is skewed and unfounded.
You mean like how he was polling at 0% 5 months ago, and finished with 10% in Iowa, with the second most votes per appearance? You do realize that Dean is the chair of the DNC, and his campaign helped create, The 50 State Strategy Revolutionize online grassroots campaigning Set the stage for the current Democratic strength by bringing in the youth Founded Democracy for America If Paul has the same effect as Dean, it will be tremendous.
Ron Paul is just getting started. Along the way he has WON the respect, support, hearts and minds of a lot of people. Why don't you want him to succeed? He is fighting for your liberties after all. He has not lost anything. On the contrary has won a lot of support.
It means that unlike out-of-office Rudy, Mitt, Fred and Huck, Paul still gets to the House and votes, while campaigning in more states than say Duncan Hunter or John McCain. McCain has missed 247 of 442 votes, or nearly 60%. Hunter has missed 354 of 1183 or 30%. Paul has missed 315 of 1159,, or 27%.
I had no idea what you meant. I thought it was some analysis that for each appearance in Iowa, he got more votes? Anyway, even with your explanation I am not sure what 'votes per appearance' is supposed to mean. I would agree all elected officials should do their duty and vote. It certainly should be a priority over campaigning. That being said, the reality is that I would be much more upset if they missed a close vote versus one with no question as to the outcome.
He did. But he's also campaigned in Florida, South Carolina, Michigan, New Hampshire, Wyoming, Nevada, Texas, New York, Philadelphia etc.
No offense guys, but you do need a reality check. Just like the regular elections, the popular vote doesn't matter and support doesn't matter. That's just a pony show to please the masses. In the primaries, it's delegate votes that count. Check it out: http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/ http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/02/delegate.explainer/index.html We do not live in a democracy. We live is a representative republic. Read it and weep. That is the reality.
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=620178 FYI, Paulunteers have been working for delegate positions for over 3 months now. We're one of a handful of GOP campaigns with a full DC delegate slate, and one of the leaders with a WV slate. This isn't news to us.
How to create a fascist dictatorship in 10 steps 1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy. (Real or unreal) Hitler invokes a communist threat to the nation's security after communist arson, the Enabling Act replaced constitutional law with an open-ended state of emergency. (USA Patriot Act) 2. Create a prison system outside the rule of law. On April 24 1934, the Nazis, too, set up the People's Court, which also bypassed the judicial system: prisoners were held indefinitely, often in isolation, and tortured, without being charged with offences, and were subjected to show trials. (Guantánamo in Cuba, CIA "black site" prisons throughout the world) 3. Develop a thug caste Send paramilitary groups of scary young men out to terrorise citizens. The Blackshirts roamed the Italian countryside beating up communists; the Brownshirts staged violent rallies throughout Germany. (After Hurricane Katrina, the Department of Homeland Security hired and deployed hundreds of armed private security guards in New Orleans. The investigative journalist Jeremy Scahill interviewed one unnamed guard who reported having fired on unarmed civilians in the city. Groups of angry young Republican men, dressed in identical shirts and trousers, menaced poll workers counting the votes in Florida in 2000.) 4. Set up an internal surveillance system In Mussolini's Italy, in Nazi Germany, in communist East Germany, in communist China - in every closed society - secret police spy on ordinary people and encourage neighbours to spy on neighbours. (In 2005 and 2006, when James Risen and Eric Lichtblau wrote in the New York Times about a secret state programme to wiretap citizens' phones, read their emails and follow international financial transactions, it became clear to ordinary Americans that they, too, could be under state scrutiny.) 5. Harass citizens' groups Read more...
It is being done as we talk right now. http://rawstory.com/news/2007/US_drafting_plan_to_allow_government_0114.html
Security and Privacy are a ZERO SUM GAME? That has to be the most idiotic statement I have read today (granted it is early yet). How do these people get appointed to their positions? Based on this F**CKED up logic, we're supposed to yield all privacy, and then we will be absolutely safe? I wasn't aware the government was capable of making people safe, they can't even a balance a damn budget or conquer Iraq in 5 years (WWII took 4 years)
How to ruin the greatest country in the world in 2 steps: 1. Elect a stupid president (BUSH '00) 2. Elect him again for a second term. (BUSH '04)
It's been going on longer than Bush. You need to be able to identify the CFR/PNAC operators behind the scenes, the Norman Podhoretzes and Kristols (Irving and Bill). Good people don't need to form exclusive think tanks and societies. These neo-conservatives (Trotskyites) have a 4 or 5 generation jump on on everyone. The John Birch Society was intended to counteract these guys, but they didn't have the organization, funding or leadership to carry the fight forward, and today exist somewhat on the fringe.
I know, it is so much more complex than BUSH, but your average person will not get it. They are too busy watching American Idol to care about anything else.
