Bid Directory Design Ripped from Alive Directory

This creation can be termed "Inspired" if it links back to Alive as: Inspired by Alive Web Directory.

This creation can be termed "Ripped Off" if it doesn't link back Alive and the owner says its Unique.

...So the answer is obvious here atm.

 

I'd like to say, 50% ripping works.

 

Mike...in all honesty i do agree with you. And you can tell it publicly that i was the second person along with Rob, that you are talking about here.
Since i came across this link on my thread, so i had to see the design.

However, for the line in bold....i did buy a link before i talked to you. LOL...Excuse me for that.... I was actually just buying the link on all those directories on a HIGH SPEED.


For the design....yes it's a shame. I will agree that it's a complete Rip Off!

 

I've seen designers selling very similar templates in the "template" section here @ DP. They are "knock-offs". However, the bid amount background from pickdirectory.com is identical.

 

Thanks, I will request a re design immediately. I am sad to see this, however I can assure you my requests were made custom, and I paid a fair amount for the design and the coding bit, I suppose I could get a complete re design. If you however, provided this through pm I wouldn't defend the design, but you just said things and I did not bother to check it up.

Thanks for making it clear though, I don't want to see my name published like this, because I am not the guy to do this.

EDIT: iPod, I don't know if you have seen me, but I have been in this biz for a long time now, long enough to share wisdom with the rest, do you honestly think I am stupid enough to ask for a rip off? I paid for it but don't worry the template will be removed and never used in any directory, and will request a immediate re-design that has no connections with alive. iPod, I see no submission from you?

They look very similair yes (the header background and image colours are the same)

Bidding background is not a good fact IMO

 

Look up the owners. I host pick directory, for the records dtm, is one of my best friends here. I suppose the coding part was done using his images, as the PSD that was made for me, didnt include such image.

I would say that there are more similarities than not and if they are "inspired" by a few sites do a better job of making the site unique.

 

One domain with WhoisGuard, so there is no clue. But DNS is same!

Firstly, you should clear the concept that we are talking about the design rip off and not your reputation or nature. i agree that you have been in business for long and i know you are not stupid. But design did came as same to alive...So....

I'm pretty sure you will make changes now, but what's so bothersome, is that people like yourself do this on a constant and consistent basis, and leave things be, until they are outed.

from that moment he is busy trying to contact the designer to get it redesigned.

he never likes copycats and hi is real sick about this happening.

you dont even give him the change to get it redesigned.
it would be have shown you off as a gentleman if you hade give him let say 24 hours to get things redesigned and coded.
