If this is what it takes to get to the atmosphere NPT is talking about, you can keep this forum, and I'm gone. You'll probably still have some people who get into these topics, but I'm not going to self censor over current events and the government in a P&R forum. A simpler solution would be for all parties to agree on being civil, and keeping discussion from becoming personal. Easier said than done. One of the folks in the last few posts is big on personalizing facts and opinions, trying to demean and discredit the poster, rather than the post. Let me know your thoughts. If we have to dumb this forum down to the point where we can't discuss policy or history honestly, I don't need it. Even though I like a lot of you guys a lot.
guerilla, you have a choice. Stop attacking America with your dishonest posts, many of which I have corrected today, or I will continue. To be fair to others, I have made this offer to guerilla before, but he cannot contain himself. He insists on tearing America down, almost always doing it dishonestly, then pretending he's a patriot for doing so. It's not about dumbing it down, for anyone, it's about your dishonesty and your ceaseless and relentless attacks against America. Even now, as I respond to this, I was just in another thread correcting your dishonesty regarding supplying Iraq with weapons. Again, I call on you to end this ceaseless and relentless attacking of your country and using dishonesty to do it with. Will you?
I want a list of everything I post that you consider tearing America down. With that complete list, I expect a guarantee from you, that you will never accuse me of tearing down America for anything not on that list. When you have produced that list for everyone to see, so that it is clear how much censorship you are pushing, then we can talk about making that happen. In the meantime, I will also be making a list of things you cannot discuss, things which are in my opinion anti-American. Your list can have precedence, but all items not on your list but on mine will no longer be topics for your discussion. In light of how well most of us are able to discuss during your protracted absences, I also call on you to cease the personal and character attacks on me and others. No more calling people liars or dishonest. No more accusations of treason. You will be held to this standard as long as the items on your list are adhered to. Sure, there are the terms above. If you can live with them, then we should move forward with this. It's not a one sided negotiation. If you really love America so much, you're gunna have to work for it, and make some sacrifices in return for her honor (in your eyes).

Start reading your posts. Don't try to play it off. You know you do this, everyone else knows you do it as well. You get a pass from some, but I suspect they are probably less than enthusiastic about having to give you a pass day in and day out, going behind and defending you for tearing "our" country down. I hope you will take the time to produce such a list. Given the level of dishonesty demonstrated today, you'll understand when I ask for a source. When most of the participants are those who ceaselessly tear America down, I can certainly see why you get along just fine in my absence. No one to correct the dishonesty. It's real simple, guerilla. Even someone like you could get it. Stop tearing our country down day in and day out. Or would that prevent you from participating in the forum? Wouldn't give you much else to do, huh?
I want a list, so that we never have a dispute over "tearing America down". I don't believe I am, but for the sake of goodwill, I am willing to let you produce such a list for everyone to adhere to. You're being given the parchment, and the quill to pen the forum Constitution. Are you willing to do that? It's your big moment. You can attain everything you fought for with me and others in posts, through peace, initiative and negotiation. The ball is in your court.

I know this is tough, for all of us. There's history here and feelings are involved, about things that are important to all of us. I still maintain, no matter what the issue, no matter how diametrically opposed we are to each other's point of view, if we all stick to facts and forego personalities and presumptions, we'll be better off. I'm not trying to play matchmaker. I just honestly don't see the point. Facts, not personality. It is possible to wipe the slate clean, from this moment. An agnostic preaches, again. Not to win any humanitarian awards, but to toss out a possibility: A proposed statement of principles, for us all: Otherwise, this just blows.

Guerilla, gtech will never produce that list because like his claims of wmd's and al queda's in iraq before the invasion, he knows its all just a hoax. Oh and by the way i would also like a list by gtech of my posts . Not being able to question your own government sounds alot like facism. then again maybe gtech likes the facists principles. To each their own, but in america when u accuse someone of being unamerican you should back those accusation with some rock solid proof and not some flimsy weblinks of sites everyone knows are biased. While on the basics I do agree with you on this, however it is a bit more complex than that. Al Queda did have some members in the North of Iraq, these members however were in an area not controlled by Saddam, in an area more in control by the US and UN and or our allies in the north. As far as WMD's this one as well can be twisted, as it was being yesterday with Gtech. BTW I am not saying it as a rip on Gtech, I myself would have more than likely said what he did, it's a tricky area. Yes some items have been found, you however have to look very closely at what was found. Many items before we even went in were known about, Saddam was able to have, was under UN seal, etc. Other items have been debunked. What has been found is a far cry from WMD on the sense of us finding anything worthwhile to use WMD as a basis for invading. Things have been found, you however have to take those things for what they are which does not add up to WMD in the sense of finding what we hoped or thought we would find. At least not IMHO.. On the basis of this thread, I agree with NPT. I 'might' be removing my avatar, if I do it is not because I dropped support for RP, it would be more to the point of not trying to display a group mentality on here, which easily can be attacked on such basis even if it is not the truth. Visual aids confuse many small minds
