I just made a post on my blog and got indexed within minutes.
says on the listing in the SERP. "23 minutes ago"
Does this mean Googlebot is stalking my website because it thinks its important?

My blog stuff also gets indexed quick--but it's due to the pinging feature within Wordpress.

Piging your blog after you have made post can really help your blog to get index easily..

Google attempts to predict your new post based on historical frequency. If you update your site often, Google will return more frequently.

That's frequent enough then, presumably. :) I think s/he meant if your last post was in 2005 then it's not regarded as important.

So did mine, started a new blog yesterday and already got listed in google. Are you using wordpress beecause they have a ping function that lets google know your blog is started. This is a function that comes while installing

hm... not sure if there is such feature on blogger, but first post always get indexed fast and then it is only the matter of you posting frequency. And even on free blogs you can make some seo within code as meta tags that are not so vital but can only help you, just be relevant

I just launched today my very own blog on a Wordpress theme.
I have a running site on domain.net, and the blog is domain.net/blog/
I placed only 1 backlink, and that is from my PR4 personal site, domain.net
The results - all 3 posts from today got into google in less than an hour. Weird stuff :)

Google loves the blog! I use them for everything especially now that there are some sexy magazine layouts and even Wordpress shopping carts. Keep the content coming and you'll see your blog indexed daily.
