Somebody we knew just died yesterday. She was riding on a motorcycle with her husband when they got hit by a bus. Half side of her body was literally pulled off. She died instantly while her husband is still under critical condition. Their young sons age 5 and 3 are too young to understand what is happening. Please pray for her soul and for her husband's speedy recovery.
That's terrible indeed. I wish well for the family's future. My uncle, too, died in Feb 2006 while riding his motorcycle. He was hit by a truck and most of his face was ripped apart. That doesn't stop me from riding bikes though. It all depends on how you handle the bastard plus a few road and traffic variables.
I think driving motorcycle is one of the cause of death in my country thats why four wheels is better than two. We know for the fact that motorcycle can save you gas but its too risky.
i know a few people who dies plus 1 with bottom half of his leg missing and another who is now wallking again after about 50 operations in total i will never ride a motorbike your too exposed
They are dangerous, i think in some rare situations they can be of advantage in an accident, as strange as that sounds, sometimes to be thrown from the bike has actually saved a few lives, but understandably i can appreciate peoples caution of them. You can be a great rider though, in control and handling the bike well, but cant tell what others on the road are going to do at times.
These 4 wheelers never care for 2 wheelers while they are driving on road! Shame on these 4 wheelers and i really wish that bus driver should be given a tough punishment by law I wish her husband's speedy recovery and so that he can look after their children.
Well personally I stick to 4 wheels and stay off 2. As a fireman I have worked a few motorcycle accidents and it is never a pleasant task. The problem is that motorcycles are not easily seen on the roads. I drove semis and that is tough to spot a small car in much less a motorcycle. A motorcycle to a regular vehicle is the same principal as a small car to a semi. The other problem is the skill level of the rider and if the rider was doing anything stupid at the time. In this case a husband and wife with 2 young children I doubt very seriously that there was any stunt riding or unsafe speeds or any unsafe riding at all. This sounds like a bus driver that just did not see the motorcycle. It is a very sad situation and they are in my prayers.
Different countries have different driving and safety standards. I cycled (pedaled) toured through Europe, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. The only country I'd have any problems returning by bike to would be Indonesia. They were careless and disrespectful of other road users. I don't know about the Philippines but I wouldn't write off motorbikes altogether! My thoughts go to you, though, and to your friend and her family. I hope her husband makes a full recovery and her children keep their father.
Wow I am sorry to hear. It can be a very dangerous thing to ride a motorcycle and there is nothing around you to compensate for mistakes. I hope he recovers the husband recovers okay. It is never good to hear a fellow motorcycle rider in a crash.
That is so sad , I hope that the father can fully recover, my thoughts and prays go out to the little children and that family.
Thank you guys. Over the years, I've heard a lot of bad news like this and I just wish there won't be any motorcycle accidents again. When motorcycles weren't such a hit here before, never have I heard that a friend died of accident but now... every year somebody I know or somebody I know by name dies... That's why I will never ever ride one nor will I allow my loved ones to ride one. You can never be too careful. You may be a great driver but still you have no defense whatsoever when you'd come across a lousy driver.
R.I.P. I also hate motorcycles... But at me is because I stayed 3 hours on the road continously on it (as passenger in the back)... Man when I came down... I felt like in hell...
