Even is he only has one testicle, I think he will still live a normal life.

Yes, even though he has onlyone, it shouldn't effect his life. There really isn't much of a problem if he just has one, as long as the other is properly working, then he is still fertile.

Your dog doesn't have enough balls :D

Now on a serious note, No it's not normal, normally they have two balls, but it's not something to worry about too much either. I had a cat that had just one testicle. The vet said it's nothing to worry about, if his one testicle is working fine, his 'manhood' is as good as anyone with two balls.

The tricky part is how to check if his single ball is working fine, either take him to the vet surgeon, he will check it with the help of a syringe combined with his nerdiness. OR simply blow your dog (No seriously, the vet suggested it).....

Thanks for the info. He would often attempt to hump on our legs... does that mean his sperm cells are active? *dumb question grr*

My sister is a dog breeder but she's just starting out with it. currently we have a total of 10 dogs plus 5 dachshund puppies. She got upset when I told her about our pug's condition but then it just added to the many reasons why we spoil this dog hehe

    Hi,

Your dog is suffering from a condition called cryptorchidism. Though one testicle does descend into the scrotum, the pug will be fertile. But a retained testicle is one that stays in the abdomen and refuses to make its way to the scrotal sac to hang with pride alongside its twin.

This dog can lead a normal healthy life and also sexually active. But it is not advised to breed this dog as its successor may also suffer from the same condition. (which is really pity :)

Let's hope your pup won't get personal issues after you just showed him to the world :)
