All of this Huckabee talk reminded me of his dog-murdering son. I looked around a bit and found something disturbing. It is analogous to the perversity of the likes of Mark Foley.

I think this last one may top them all.

Here's a site with a bunch of links:

There is a link between animal abuse and sociopathology.

    Maybe they are reptilians.

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
    --Ghandi

This is one of favorite quotes of all times. Just think of that quote for a minute and you will find that it holds true.

Well that is his son not him but it is reflective of the father simply because he needs to teach him better manners. If he can control just his family, how does he control a nation?

The extent of animal abuse that goes on is overwhelming. I have some friends in the ALF, and try to stay informed of animal rights issues. But I have had to distance myself to a degree lately for self-preservation . When I was more in touch, I couldn't help but feel depressed all the time. After awhile, it kind of makes you not like people so much. There is a town that puts hooks in in the mouth of live stray dogs and uses them for shark bait. There was an artist who tied a dog up in a public place with no food or water and called that his artistic expression (the dog starved to death and he is displaying it). China skins dogs and makes crappy trinkets out of dog fur. It is like a nightmare. Especially when people just don't get it. Why would you get pleasure from torturing even a frog? Why do people like causing pain in others? You can most certainly judge a person by the way they treat animals. I do all the time, it says alot.

Well for that, they think that their dogs are as vain as them, pity the dogs can't open their mouth to complain of the misery.

Stox, it is not like he is a toy. If it is cold and I have to take him out for a walk, I put a sweater on him. But I don't dress him solely for my own amusement. His comfort is my main priority.

It's a dog. it already has a coat. But i'm sure he feels more comfortable with a hair pin in.

You sure love your dog :) . I think what stOx was saying was about those owners which I had seen dressed their dogs with sun glasses, tuxedo and all sorts of funny thing. Giving him a sweater for cold weather should be fine (from the dog's perspective :) ). But those who give them sunglasses etc are kinda weird.

I do love my dog, he is my sweet little boy. I would never make him wear anything he doesn't want to. But I have to admit, I do sell a dog tuxedo and wedding dress. I wouldn't make my dog wear it every day, only on his wedding day.:)

Id rather get some clippers and chop off any hair that gets in the way.

I think while your intentions may be good rebecca and you genuinely care about an animals welfare you have little, if any, Respect for them and have no trouble making complete mockeries out of them.

I'm sure if a dog had a concept of dignity the last thing they would want is a wedding dress.

Ouch, that hurts. Thinking about it, I guess you have a point. Wearing a sweater to keep warm for a brief walk outside, is different than having them wear a wedding dress for a photo op. Mockery wasn't intentional. I'll think about what you said. Thanks Stox.:)

I rather see someone put clothes on a dog than chop sticks.

That's for Chinese and Koreans I guessed? I had a fellow classmate from Korea who defended the practice vigorously. He said that those dogs are farmed to be eaten. No amount of convincing him that dogs are men's best friend can stop him from using the chop sticks. He said these are specially good during winter time. Rebecca of all places do not bring your dog to Korea or China, they may end up on your plate without you knowing :)

No, I don't eat meat. The thought of eating dogs is especially horrifying. But I like cows too. When I was growing up, I had the chance to live on a farm for a year. I would help take care of the baby calves. They had personalities. They would play tag with eachother. It's ironic, at that farm they raised animals to slaughter. But being there made me become a vegetarian for life.:)

I want to become vegetarian too for ethical reasons. What a noble concept, we do not need to resort to mas slaughter of animals we can survive just fine on a vegetarian diet, not to mention it is much healthier. I try to eat less and less meat, until I make meat a thing of the past from my diet. I love my dog, and other animals are no different, if they have a nervous system they do feel pain, and killing them so we can eat them it does sound sick.

Ahhhh.....I do like cows but in a different form :)

But vegetarian is a good healthy choice as long as enough proteins are consumed.

not. being a vegetarian poses a lot of health risks. Basically by the time your 40+ you have double chance of getting health complications and what not. Its not pretty on either side, either eat meat or be on meds for the rest of your older life.
