I think what prompted this thread was d16 not being able to answer GRIM's questions about the FairTax and in some cases, providing information that wasn't accurate. But that's ok. We only learn by challenging ourselves, and I think we are all smarter about the FairTax for that thread. Good job D16 and GRIM!

Could be. One thing ron paul supporters have gone out of their way to convince me of, is that facts and truth are not important to them. Just look at the thread where ron paul's racial newsletters were exposed, along with actual news articles from the mid 90s of ron paul defending them. I was personally impressed at the level of dishonesty and denial exhibited in that thread. If you support ron paul, you are expected to lie and be dishonest, therefore they are not held to a higher level of accountability. I hold them to it sometimes, but they just keep right on lying. I figure it's from a lack of home training.
Wade, you are referring to my thread. I'm not a liar, and the thread is very clear in its results. I don't want to dig up an old wound (in our millisecond lifespan on this forum) for any of us. Let's let this one go.
Hahaha - I still don't know - does Nintendo just have the ability to stay on, for some reason, beyond AC's reach? The saga of his toying, AC flipping out, and Nintendo posting another needle is a fascinating study, actually.
For the record, any posts that I am wrong or if you feel I am wrong please correct me. I am in the forum to learn and there are a lot of great and knowledgeable guys around here. If I am wrong on the facts, please correct me on the spot, if you feel I am wrong in my opinion, do point them out and give us yours.
There are no shortage of people who will tell you that you are wrong. Getting them to own up to an ideology or position is another matter altogether. Welcome to P&R.
This really is something I've been thinking about over the last several weeks. At the risk of coming off like a sanctimonious prick, I'll reprint some conclusions I've posted elsewhere. I'll remove "I" and just toss it out as an olive branch to all of us, in the hope we can try to get along better with each other:
It appears that someone can not go into any thread without bashing RP, even when it has nothing to do with RP. I did not start this thread based off of bashing any group, any political side, any candidate. Yet I see some choose to do just that, perhaps it's those people this thread was started about. Pretty sad when they can not even keep an honest discussion going without making it sour and full of attacks.

OK Wade, I'm sorry if I got it wrong. D16 was referring to my thread, and thread where he was, in effect, the centerpiece. Since you indicated "I saw that thread" I guess signals have just been crossed. I haven't yet read the thread you're pointing to. We've been friends, Wade, and as much as this hasn't been easy for me to say, I do need to say what I believe, which is that I believe you've got Grim wrong. I'm a globalist, and believe that government can be a good force in human life. I am not in any way a libertarian. But I believe Grim is sincere and honorable in debate, as I have come to know him. I also know you well enough, and know that you are sincere in your love for your country. I also know your personal stake in this conflict. But I'm sorry, Wade - I think sometimes of late you're fervor has brought you to be, at times, unwilling to countenance some of the thoughts here on their merits. From one vet to another, I salute you with respect for your service to your country. I'm asking you, me, Grim, Guerilla, all of us, to see if we can cut the crap and return to civility, presume honorable intent, and see if we can't learn from each other. I would be dishonest if I withheld these comments, because they have been on my mind for some time.
You do not owe me an apology. It is I that owe you one, and I apologize. There are so many threads here. 90% of them are "OMG, RON PAUL!!!" If that's the thread in question, then no, I didn't read it and what I said was not correct. This forum has turned into a ron paul forum, with a good majority of everything about OMG, RP!!! I'll try to pay better attention in the future. As for the second part, I respect your opinion. I have a serious disliking for grim and guerilla. The others just feed off their coattails and are easily manageable. Concessions can be made all around. I take great exception when guerilla dishonestly maligns my country with inaccurate information for the sole purpose of kicking sand in her eyes. This is compounded when he/she has nothing but the kindest words for terrorists and the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism. I don't work well with grim. I won't mention the personality disorder that causes this. I used to have some respect for grim, but since deciding to support ron paul, he gives pass after pass after pass to those that tear our country down. There was a time when he'd call them on that, but he now directs all that animosity towards me for doing so. Until, or if, guerilla and the other hateful ron paul supporters stop dishonestly tearing my country down, day in and day out, and blatantly lying to do so, I fear there can be no concessions made. I'm more than happy to "back off," but I will not stand idly by and let others dishonestly tear my country up. So if we want to negotiate something, those are my primary terms. Cut the "blame America first" crap, and dishonestly tearing our country down. If they want to agree to that, then I'm open to accepting some concessions.
Gtech I will agree with you, there is too much RP. Too many threads... However you are no better, you attack every thread with anti RP this and that no matter what the thread is about. It would be nice if both the RP threads could be cut down and combined into a few threads and if some would stop the anti RP bash fest in every thread, even threads that have nothing to do with the man.
Agreed. I know I'm outnumbered now. I accept that. It's like "me" against the world some days. And you are correct, I do dig at Ron Paul in a the few threads not related to RP. I'm more than willing to cut that out, in exchange for the "kindness to terrorists" (not you, not all, but some) and the constant bashing of America. More than anything else, this ceaseless and relentless attacking of America by some of the RP supporters is what drives my fire. When that happens, I take all cards off the table and I'll rail back at whatever is important to them.
