I have a military auction site that I am trying to boost traffic and get some good stuff going on. I have done the following so far: 1. Directories (although not many) 2. Social Bookmarks 3. Blog Rings 4. Some article work I am of course working on other stuff as well but it's a bit much for me to do non stop. Is there something I am missing to make this easier? I really want to come out strong with this thing and get people listing, selling and buying, and traffic coming in. Adam
I think the site looks pretty good. Considering Ebay has hogged up the entire auction market, it's going to be extremely hard to get it to work. I think you should add Google Adsense in place of the Paypal banner. A lot of people will probably look over your website and leave. Therefore you want them to exit your website through your adsense banners. This way you're earning money.
I don't use adsense or anything other like it. I'd actually rather them leave without earning a 4 cent commission. Its a good thought though, just something I wanted to stay away from. @greg Can you explain how the ebook will help build traffic to the auction site? Thanks
hello adam. i have my new shopping catalog, need to market it, if you want to create ebook then I like to contribute too. we might have ebook exchange if you interested. Then invite other marketer to promote his topic. sums topic then we will have full written ebook. interested?
ok, ebooks? guys I don't get...whats with ebooks? This would be the last thing I would think of to help promote an auction..please educate me.
Ebooks are viral. So are YouTube videos. So are myspace layouts. Look for something that will naturally pass from person to person and you will get a lot of free traffic.
BTW Your average earning with Google will probably equal about $.30 a click. I've earned as much as $1.00 a click! There are people that have literally become millionaires with adsense. Search for an article about PlentyOfFish.com and you can learn about a guy who makes over $10,000 a day with Adsense!!
First of all, he's using a script that is sold all over the net so I don't think he's showing an image of a professional company. To create a custom, web 2.0 look, auction website would cost a lot of money. If he's lucky he can get a professional designer to make it for him for $5,000.
Your right greg, this is a script sold all over, hence auctions are free. This is a way to give to veterans who want to sell and make a little extra...not something to take over eBay with. I will upgrade the look eventually but I need a programmer not a designer for it.
oh and here is my professional company...like I said this is to help people make money from my site. It's not the look I am after, it's the way to get people the information of where it is.
If you write an ebook you can also give it away to people who sign up for your website. This way you will get more members. You can also list wholesale sources for military surplus products in your ebook.
Sarcastic? yes challenge coins, pins, military books, also known as field manuals, uniforms, or any other military related items.
