He wrote the book "Quit digging your grave with a knife and fork", where he describes how he brought pleasure to his Creator, God by losing weight. Other curious statements he made in it include American medical system being the best in the world and that it's goberment's job to fight obesity by fining fat Americans ISBN # 1931722781
2 Points on this Americans need to start taking PERSONAL responsibility and starting to get into shape. The government also needs to stop the farm subsidies that make crap food cheap and affordable, many times the only choice for the poor. The government's subsidies have driven crap food prices down, while driving good food prices up, I have read many articles on this subject. However people also need to get the fuck off the couch, do some form of exercise and try their best to eat healthy, as healthy as their finances will allow! There is no simple answer, IMO there is no need for the government to get involved, if anything they need to be LESS involved.
Anyone notice Mike has put back on a good 20 or more pounds? It's easy to talk the game when you have lost the weight initially. Anyone who has been on the weight loss, weight gain train knows that a rebound is always a possibility. Might have been a little too premature writing that book...
It's a huge possibility, in most cases it is reality. Even with me, I do not eat anywhere near as clean as I once did. Most people that know me think I am insane on how clean I eat and how much I workout..
He is also reported to have said some other pretty wild things, in my opinion. At Liberty University (Falwell U.), a student asked Huckabee what accounted for his ascendancy in the polls leading up to Iowa. His reported response was to say: Source: New Yorker, Jan. 7, 2008, pp. 23-24. I understand that from the perspective of Christian theology, all things come from God. But this also sends a red flag up, for me, anyway. I feel we have lived through 8 years of an administration convinced of the righteousness of its cause, to the point of unmitigated arrogance, against all reason. I think Huckabee's comments are in line with that kind of mindset - that a decision made, for instance, had to be divinely sanctioned, because, well, it came into being. That gives me the willies, to be honest. Romney is no better in this vein, except I think Romney is an opportunist who changed his tune, now that he is speaking to the national stage, and not a home constituency.
Well, that's a good point NPT, because Romney claims to have 3 constituencies. Utah, Michigan and Massachusetts. Another side of the "divine" mindset is a lack of accountability IMO. I get this feeling when you hear Huckabee talking about the war, and how it is not about lives, or cost or consequences, but part of some "crusade for honor". Leaders who have taken this approach in the past have led a lot of countries into a lot of ugly situations. So I'm wondering, did the divine provide Huckabee with too many loaves of bread or what? If God was happy with the weight loss, is he unhappy with the weight gain?
Huckster is a complete fool if he thinks it's the governments duty to take care of us. obesity is a tip of the ice-berg compared to some of the health problems people have, so his success story doesn't really persuade me. anyone who has their wits about them know it is the government's intervention that causes the majority of health problems people face today. so for them to all-knowingly intervene and make us better, trimmer people is outrageous.. and he states he is a conservative?!
Actually, the scary thing is, this is part of a much larger mentality, that says that our bodies, or the fitness of our bodies belongs to the state. Of course, the Eugenics movement has moved slowly and deliberately for a long, long time.
What an atrocious statement to make!! Who else is going to take care of all the fat losers of America?
More dishonesty? Source please. Kudos to Mike, for standing up and putting his "mouth" literally where his words are. Takes a good man to recognize he has a problem, then go out and do something about it. Amazing how some would turn any success into something bad. Whether it's someone else, or their country.
I certainly think Mike is becoming successful at putting weight back on. Maybe he can write a book about that.
As if anyone other than other dishonest ron paul supporters care what you think? Pfft! How many crosses has ron paul burned this weekend?
How many Huckaburgers did Mike eat? He's the perfect candidate for you. His hypocrisy and ignorance knows no bounds.
Hahahaaa....Now that was funny. I knew you had a sense of humor buried somewhere deep...well you know where.
Hey, I just found out that Huck's Army has a blimp too. They fill it with Huckaburgers, and if you pull a string, it will raise taxes.
guru, slapping guerilla on the ass with an atta boy! I'm amazed that all you ron paul supporters know that ron paul defended his racist newsletters, then lied and said he didn't know about them, and still support him. Leadership reflects attitude
"Leadership reflects attitude" your unconditional support of BUSH and his Administration says mountains about you then.
