Did anyone experience their websites at hostgator giving Internal server errors after a number of visitors are active on it? I got this message from them: This is quite worrying if it is the case as I am on one of their higher packages.
All of their shared packages have that. Won't matter what package your on. For the Internal server error you can check your .htaccess file. Try deleting it. Before you delete it make a back up of it and then delete it. If you still get the same error then it's not your .htaccess file and you can upload it again. - Prilep
To be fair any host protects their resource usage in some way via their terms or even on the server itself. Fact is one user can use an entire server while using almost no space or bandwidth which is not going to be cost effective even if you don't oversell at all.
I'm still looking for unlimited bw/hdd and 0 mail and resource limitations. Will pay almost any price Anyone knows a good hoster?
Sure anyone who is a liar, because that simply can not be done. I would suggest if you are willing to pay almost any price then just get a dedicated server.
Hello, Scorpiono, Your best choice is a dedicated server, and, you can better your requirement to save money. At least, you really don't need unlimited HDD. For bandwidth, most dedicated servers offer 10Mbps unlimited free, but they really charge you if you want 100Mbps unlimited. For Hard Disk Space, you can pay more to get what you like, even several TB. You can compare most-used dedicated servers at http://www.hostingmatrix.org/dedicated/, among which, most have good reputation. e.g liquidweb, hostgator, etc..
So, what's the exact difference between unmetered and unlimited regarding BW? When talking about unlimited BW, everyone mean unmetered. It seems that no one in the world can offer true unlimited BW.
When people say unlimited bandwidth, they are misusing the word. Bandwidth is limited by the maximum throughput of the port, so it can never be "unlimited".
