interlink is an issue here for sure. Those sites belong to one owner.

First source is DP, no doubt. Then some other forums...
I see some directories never promoted or mentioned on DP, and also not penalized on this and previous penalty rounds.
And I'm not talking of poor forgotten directories - but strong, established, older than 2 years even.
And among them we have even directories that turned into bid directory lately.
Main PR and internal pages PR not hurt for more than 1 year. Also this time!

Conclusion is preety easy to guess.
Time to leave DP as it seems it's a big source of denunciators and spooks.

 

Well come on what does every one expect directories are just a way of scamming your way up into the serps, it is about time google caught up.

 

hmmm, someone's not looking to make friends around here. But he has a point bid directories sell links and Google went strongly against that the last time round.

 

Lol I am just being honest....but I must admit that directories where a convenient way to make money and rank higher, but I don't really rely on them any longer

 

Google is punishing all directories which are selling their google pagerank.

The Dutch google is working together with www.startpagina.nl , google is promoting it.
But if you look at that site, you see they are selling pagerank to.

Absolutely! Google is not the only one after webmasters for being active DP members, Digg is another.

Rubbish! If your statement is true why aren't they treating all the directories equally instead of Digitalpoint members exclusively?

It is hard of course. But, I know tons of directories doing the samething but, unpunished but google. Why on earth they can not treat everyone equally?

my general web directory has gone to 0 from 3 today.

 

Were you charging for submissions based on the page rank of the individual pages of your directory?

 

Went from 5 to 0 for one of my directories someone told me that he'll report me for selling links imo that is the reason.

 

it almost 6 months old and i do nothing.
give you a big tips,
never use "directory" or "index" for the domain before start a new web directory.

 

Anything new there for me? or you need to understand mroe about the directories around which are punished and not?
