Hi i seen many thread about LLLL domains and i would like to know what that really means? i know domain but LLLL domain is confusing to me? Thanks
Buy smart and you can make profit. http://www.fka200.com/2008/01/07/llllcom-investment-green-light-from-me/
Depends on the price you can buy them at, and on the minimum profit you would consider as being worth the bother. There is just under half a million registered LLLL.com domains (all 456,976 possible combinations to be precise), but inevitably many owners will fail to renew theirs before they realize they are worth at least double reg fee on the secondary market for the worst letter combinations. Most sales are in the mid-$XX, but prices appear to be on a fast upward trend.
All LLLL.com have been bought out, now people are buying LLLL.net domains. It's up to you, if you find a very nice LLLL.net, go ahead & get it.
I used to have a really good LLLL.com domain that looked like "porn" (lol), but let it expire because I thought it was worthless what a mistake QQ
Because they were bought out. All the domain forums, especially Namepros talked about it, the LLLL.com countdown. Mind sharing what it was.
LLLL.coms purchased from other domainers (aftermarket) could be a good investment if held for several years. Be sure to include the costs of renewals in your calculations. You need to learn what makes LLLLs more valuable than others. The most valuable are real words. You are very unlikely to encounter real english dictionary words except for very high prices, but sometimes you can find foreign words - although those are not worth so much. The second factor is pronouncability. This is a judgement call, many people advertise domains that are pronouncable only to themselves. The pattern: consonant/vowel/consonant/vowel (CVCV) and to a lesser extent vowel/consonant/vowel/consonant (VCVC) are super-hot right now, the belief is that these patterns insure pronouncability. Be aware that this and many other segments of domaining can be over-hyped and may or may not be as popular when you sell. The third factor is letter quality. The ultimate goal is to sell your domain to a company who will build a website on it. For four letter domains that usually means acronymns - the first letters of the company's name match the letters in your LLLL domain. All letters are not equal in domaining. The most commonly seen letters are S,A,and C. Those three plus BDEFGHILMNOPRT are often called premium letters. JKUVWY are semi-premium and ZXQ are the worst letters. Lots of arguement about this but those are the most common divisions. Of course there are better and worse letters within those ranks, too. The more premium letters in the name the better. Often LLLL are refered to as "quad premium" (all 4 letters are premium) or 3-premium (only one JKQUVWXYZ). If you are buying for the long term then I would recommend you get the best letters you can considering price. LLLL is a very hot market right now, but there is a large supply of these domains. Someday something else will be hot. I believe that LLLL.coms today are underpriced but much of the profit has been made. There still is profit left but it will take more selective buying than it would have several months ago.
