Article writing and duplicated content

    Hi,

I want to post articles on ezine directories in order to bring some traffic to my sites/blogs.

But once it is published on an article directory, can I post it also on my blog or website? Will Google not consider it as duplicate content (regardless to the fact I am the writer) and penalize my site?

    Thanks.

The best way to do this is submit the article to your blog then re-write 50-60% of it then submit to ezinearticles this will prevent search engines viewing it as duplicate content.

Why you have to alter your own content? As I said above just post to your blog or website first and give sometime to crawl the content from SE's and after then post to the article sites...

    Penalize you site? Who cares?

Have you been one of the lucky ones who landed on page one? If so, how many visitors are you actually getting?

Now, how many would you get if you advertise and submit your articles to big Websites where they will be read by thousands?

"Duplicate content"? ... Give me a break.

I'm sorry to disappoint you but most probably you're just wasting your time with ezine sites.
They are not going to bring you more then a couple of visitors.

I've writen two short articles of a web host. And I was going to put them on ezine sites. But I'm unsure if it's a good idea to submit my ones there.

    Try it.

    Experiment.

But get others to critique the articles and your site first.

    It's worth a shot, ain't it?

Because if you post 100% same article, your link will be filtered. But if you rewrite it, you won't only get traffic but you will also get back link.

I have 6 articles on ezinearticles for about 3 weeks and here are the stats for it:

    Page Views:1,684
    Published:11
    URL Clicks:347

Its been working out great for me. I chose not to post duplicated contents on both my site and ezinearticles. I too started a thread about this duplicated contents on DP a few weeks ago when I first published an article to ezine.

I also started a thread related to this topic a few days ago: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=648038

From what i've been reading, it sounds like the best option is to post the original article on your own website then post a revised version or abstract on article directories.

    In my limited understanding....

It also depends on what you want to do. If you're building backlinks, submit the same article to as many article directories as possible.

Those articles won't get widely read but you'll get the link.

If you're driving traffic, send an original article to each directories (keep w/ big ones like ezinearticles.com) and you may get picked up by other webmasters and drive traffic.
