Does it actually matter anymore? Some folk believe he is longer a priority so I'll guess they assume he is no longer a threat.

While I may agree that he may not have the same command and control over Al Qaeda as he did 6-7 years ago but he still should be brought to justice for the crimes he has committed against U.S. Citizens.

I agree with Pakistan stance on this, what right have any other nation conduct military operations inside their own country? Not only Pakistan, no country in the world would allow that, save for the few banana republics.

Pakistan needs to take control of it's terrority, stop cross border attacks into Afganistan and turn over Bin Laden.

I doubt they have the political will to do that, their military is strong enough to control but problem is once they do that, their intelligence unit and part of their military unit that supports an Islamic state may rebel, Musharraf has enough troubles of his own to do this for USA. At most he will do is send a few army units once in a while.

Pakistan says it will resist entry of other forces (obviously US) but will this cause any strain in its relationship with US :)

What do you think? :) If Pakistan resist entry of USA forces, could it have resisted without firing a bullet? I doubt so. What I can foresee is diplomatic ways for eg, more aid packages and with Pakistan conducting "joint" military operations against the extremists. This may be possible. But still there is a lot of "ifs".

Pakistan is on a verge of a break-up and total collapse. There is no national leader there.

    1. Baluchistan is fighting for independence.
    2. North-West Frontier province was never really a part of Pakistan
    3. Sindh is aloof, and these people no longer consider themselves Pakistanis
    4. South Waziristan is on Fire...
    5. There is a
strong anti-Punjab feeling in the provinces of Sind, Balochistan and the North West Frontier Province.

Imagine now, Pakistan army attacking insurgents, o worse, US army in Pakistan doing that work. That would be the only catalyst required for disintegration of that country.

I would think he is on the KIV list :), I don't think he is that young and healthy and the Afghan mountains aren't the most hospitable of places. Maybe he has R.I.P who knows. But no one in the govt will admit he is on KIV list I guess.

US is not going to invade Pakistan unless there's a total break down.
Taliban has strong control over north west area, but still it's very hard for them to gain the control over Islamabad.
They can't do it without the open and active help from military. And why would military help Taliban/AQ when they already have control over Pakistan?

Musharraf better get his head together or he is going to end up like Mussolini.

A US military mission to capture Osama bin Laden in Musharraf's words is "against the sovereignty of Pakistan."

Isn't having Bin Ladin, al-Zawahiri and Al Qaeda on Pakistan's terrority a violation of it's sovereignty? Perhaps Musharraf and Pakanstani intelligence are trying to protect Bin Laden.

Nope he's said it before. A bit sick that people dont find that Bin Laden's capture a priority and never have after September 11th.

Just shows you some peoples mentality when it comes justice.

There are always news snippets that Bin Laden is supported by some elements in the Pakistan Intelligence units. Won't be surprising that they are helping him out behind Musharraf's back and it also will not be surprising that Musharaf already had Bin Laden and is waiting for a good bargain......

In WW2 the priority was defeating the Nazis and Japan. After the war the war crimminals were hunted down.

The Pakistan Intelligence is helping Bin Laden. No doubt about it.

What are you mumbling about now? That was World War 2....major difference and different time if you havent noticed. Yet the U.S. & the Brits (typical) were quick to chase Saddam, a man that had no threat to either country.....thats what I call a nations proirity in looking after your freedom (10 pts for the buzz word).

Sounds like you (U.S.) are all set to start bombing Pakistan then, so when are you shipping out yourself Bogart?
