This is very hard to hear and most never heard about it because it was announced on Sept 10th 2001 by Donald Rumsfeld...

We all know what happened the day after on Sept 11th 2001...

Here is the News from Sept 10th 2001...

CBS News: Missing 2.3 Trillion American Tax Dollars

Donald Rumsfeld announced 2.3 Trillion Dollars was missing from the DOD

Questions for Donald Rumsfeld to Answer...

2.3 Trillion dollars to me is a lot of money and as a Citizen of the USA I would like to know where that money went...

Uh, isn't DR retired now? Maybe alex jones hasn't updated his web site yet, but Donald Rumsfeld is long gone. I remember the celebration that most liberals (uh, I mean ron paul supporters) had here when he resigned.

Yes DR is retired now... But the News from Sept 10th 2001 is still unanswered...

Where did the 2.3 Trillion Dollars go???

If you do taxes and claim to have made gross 100k but irs finds you had 135k in bank deposits would they want you to account for the extra 35k found???

I ask no more from the USA Federal Government to report where the 2.3
    Trillion Dollars went...

2.3 trillion is not that much money and the fact it was announced missing on Sept 10th 2001 has no meaning... Sorry i posted this so lets move on in the standard bent of over manner that seems to be the platform of the people of this world...

People can't fathom this much money. They don't understand what $2.3 trillion would do right now, erasing a portion of the debt, and allowing the dollar to make a small recovery.

Just doing a rough calculation it is enough to give each and every American $10 000. If such a huge sum of money had existed, call it a bonus not a rebate as in what Bush had done for its taxes. It will simulate consumer demands which is about 70% of an average GDP of a country and can do wonders for the USA economy and also prevent the world's economy into slipping into recession in 2008 as some has predicted.

Don't know about the USA National Debt though; it has so many zeros I lost track of it just counting the number of zeros.....

I wonder how he came up with $2.3 trillion dollars, over what period of time since the defense budget is only around 500 billion for the year.

An audit can cover a long time, it is doubtful that such huge amount are skimmed through the DOD in a single year, it is probably through many years of misuse. But to think that the amount reach $2.3 trillion before it was reported suggested that the regulators aren't doing their job that fantastically.

I would say that normally for such a huge amount there should be public outrage and a high level committee would be formed to investigate how and why such a huge amount of money is missing.

First time I read about it, normally such news would spread across the globe in no time.......

Big government always leads to waste. There is never enough transparency, and never enough oversight.
