Nowadays getting tattooed is gaining its importance among teenagers and celebrities. I don't know whether they know tattoo may predispose to AIDS? So be aware about this fact.

Most people express about getting tattooed is that they may contract the HIV virus, which can cause AIDS.

I do not see any basis in fact for this. I have a couple and as GRIM said if the needles are cleaned properly there is no chance. It is almost like saying you can not go outside because you "Might" get cancer. Yeah you might then again you might not.

That is the funniest thing I ever heard. I got 5 of them I ain't got no AIDS. But then mine were professionally done in clean shops as well. That is the big problem. If you share needles whether it be drugs or tattoo you can and probably will run into that kind of problem.

Mere tattooing will not predispose you to HIV. Remember it is a viral infection and it is transferred mainly through unprotected sexual contact or faulty blood transfusion. When tattooing is done carelessly or if the tattooed part is exposed to the viral contact, you have the chance to contract the disease. That's all. Don't get unduly worried :)

I have one and hope to get another one soon. As long as you go to a professional in a clean shop, you will be fine. I don't think I'd ever get one in Mexico...

Tattooing in clean shop won't harm you. But there are so many points to be considered b4 getting tattooed. The main things include new needles (in sterile sealed packages), new unused razors, new ink in disposable pack, health board license, etc. Otherwise you end up in dreadful viral diseases...
