I think it looks really nice and it's really small. I think I want to buy one 'coz it looks so cute! Do you think its hard disk could be replaced with 80gb?

Looks good hun. I like it the hard drive in this though it is not a normal one. It is s S.S.D. (Solid-State Disk) meaning it is like a flash card. One word for that is expensive right now and I am not sure they even make an 80gb yet. I will post back when I found out more about S.S.D..

Edit; They do make them at 80 Gb they cost roughly 200 grand or so maybe a it less depending on where you find them.

2 thousand U.S. dollars yes. New technology is always high priced it will come down later. This is a very new technology. I remember when 64 mb thumb drives cost a lot. Guess I am old lol.

Yeah but they claim these things will outlast current drives almost 3 to 1. I am going to wait for prices to come down a bit before I buy anything like it. The laptop itself looks great though and I would buy one except the hard drives issue turns me off also.

Well, you can always add a USB harddisk and put from it instead. That should reduce the cost. A USB harddisk is quite lightweight especially a 2.5" model.

I'm really thinking about buying the 4gb surf. I dont need the regular 4gb with the webcam. I'll never use it and from what I've seen on youtube the webcam isnt anything good anyway. The only drawback is that the 4gb surf has a smaller battery than the regular 4gb. However Asus is releasing a bigger battery that I will probably replace it with. Supposedly they are saying you can get ~5 hours which would be twice as much as you can get with the current battery in the 4gb surf.

I've also seen a lot of cool mods, hacks, and information at the eeeuser.com forums. Gonna wait a little bit longer probably and then make my decision.

7" screen... brrrrrr I already wear prescription glasses :) I find it inconvenient if the screen size is smaller than 15". This toy is not for me.
