    Dear users,
I have a purchased a domain name from yahoo and a hosting package from leaseweb. Now I would like to point my domain to my index.html file stored at leasweb host

I got the following info from leasweb when I signed up.

Here are the login details for domain: mydomain.com (Linux Silver)

    FTP:
    Server: 84.12.170.1
    username: username
    password: password

    Plesk control panel:
    https://85.12.143.5:8503
    username: username
    password: password

    Mailservers:
    POP3/SMTP: mail.mydomain.com / 25.13.554.1

I am very new to making web sites. So please help me to set this up. Also when I connect to my ftp I see the following folders.

    anon_ftp
    bin
    cgi-bin
    conf
    error_docs
    httpdocs
    httpsdocs
    pd
    private
    statistics
    subdomains
    web_users

for which folder should I upload my html and php files?
Thank you for your help and advice.

You need to ask them for the nameservers and then go into your yahoo domain account and change the domain nameservers there. You need them from the hosting company first.

There should be a public_html folder that is where your website goes for the main domain.

The files should go in public_html, htdocs, or httpdocs, depending on what the server uses. Yours looks like it uses the latter. I don't know the nameservers for leaseweb, but it looks like their are either ns1.leaseweb.com and ns2.leaseweb.com or ns1.leaseweb.nl and ns2.leaseweb.nl

To point the domains to them using yahoo, log in and unlock the domain. Once unlocked go to "Advanced DNS Settings" and change the nameservers. Once you're done remember to lock them again.

I havent tried Plesk, so dont know how it is there, sorry. BUT what type of hosting is it shared/vps/dedicated?

And if you dont mind me asking, how much are you paying for what you get, can you give a link to the hostingplan you have in their website, maybe :)

Sometimes it takes time, normally it takes between 12-48 hours for the dns to resolve.

Just be patience and wait and see.

You can try test if you site is ok, using the ip they gave you with a slash ~ your domain name, depending on your account, you may access your website this way.

    Good luck.

I have email the Leaseweb support and asked them about ips and nameservers. they emailed me back saying I should point my domains to the following ip.

    85.17.150.8

which also happens to be my ftp host. When I try to connect to this using my wbe browser it automatically redirects to ttp://127.0.0.1/ and give me this error message.

Please help me get this site up i will really appreciate it.
