PR0 to PR6 site, registered Sunday 23rd December. Site completed Sunday 23rd december. Pagerank N/A (obviously). Less than three weeks later, PR 6

Edit: I now agree with everyone who has said differently, this proves PR means nothing unless you're building it simply for selling links.

Edit (again): It appears the Dmoz' PR is now 'Unassigned', along with all internal pages which are also unassigned, hmm, another slight update on the ready? After all, there were 2 updates in October 2007!

 

Did you have any redirects ? It seems that you did and you got the pagerank for the site you had redirected to. Did you redirect to Google.com

It should be up for some time until the new web content picks up and you'll loose it.

i found some of you are talking about pr update,this morning when i checked

my sites,i found some of my sites have got pr already even they are very

young(no more than one month old.),that's really scared me.I checked

with digpagerank.com it says that one of my domain got pr 2,and i check

with validrank.com,it says that my site got pagerank 10 OMG,what is going on there.

Anything same happen to you guys

Yahoo.com has 9 PR so how someone can ever believe that a forum with less than some thousands of users can have such a pagerank?! forums.digitalpoint.com has PR 6 so i think that there are no comments

im sad that through this thread, I have discovered it's "fake" or something. But I'm sure that with time, when this forum picks up, it will get close to PR9-10, who knows. I mean people would probably link from youtube towards the community forum.

I'd love to see what will happen with time.

The sad truth, is that the forum was florishing when i released it 2 years ago. But with time, it got attacked by hackers exploiting the stupid vbulletin vulnerabilities. Now that I got it secured and the version was increased, it looks like it'll chase the people that hate the success of the forum away. I'll now always update to the latest version so that these people don't have the time to adapt.
