I agree if he was so annoying, but I was reading a new thread from him. The title was something like "Should we be worried about the deficit?". It didn't contain any attacks. Guess what? The thread vanished in an Orwellian way. I'm a bit worried...
Rank, the thread didn't vanish - I just went to it, it's still here, in today's P&R. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=647104 It just didn't get any responses, and only got 16 views. Sometimes that happens, as I'm sure you know. I've started numerous threads that quickly lost steam after little or no response. People either don't care, it gets buried, or just don't want to jump in on the OP's gravy train. The fact there were very few views tells me people just weren't interested in diving into guru's thread.
Oh no!! run for cover! It is crazy Rob the Bush lover! He will ban everyone who disagrees with him... run run away.. run forrest run...
Well, that's happened to me as well. Usually, after I've been here way too long, my wife is punching darts with her eyes for wasting so much time, and I'm really hot on the trail of a "good point." Anyway, in my opinion, the mods do a good job, and it isn't easy. I couldn't do it. With the Uber-Bomb available, I'd be hard pressed not to just zap into oblivion, after the 1753th hair was pulled. Edited to say: You know what's funny? It just dawned on me that I don't create websites any longer. I haven't been outside P&R in I don't know how long. But I'm on a webmastering forum. The bandwidth in this section has got to be enormous. I'm actually pretty grateful for the freewheeling exchange, as a resource, that I have experienced over my time here. I really don't know - is it common to have something like this, an open P&R forum, in specialized sites like DP is?
"Dude", I'm only posting my opinion. Isn't that allowed anymore? I also admitted I was wrong about the lost thread. Did someone pm'd you or are you just that fast? This mod finds you not objective. Let me guess: I'm banned for daring to reply. Another red username.
It's debatable, but I'm all for it as long as we accept and allow each other's views. But since we don't, perhaps it's not such a good idea after all.
Actually you just look a fool - but don't worry, I don't think that is a bannable offense around here. You have made numerous accusations against DP and moderators only to have each one refuted. Perhaps you should ask before you accuse or better yet, do your own research before jumping the gun with accusations of bias or unfairness.
Rank, I'm sorry, but I think you're being unnecessarily pugnacious about all this. You opened your point by saying a member was banned for his point of view. You admit you hadn't even read this thread until I nodded to you to take a deeper look. You said you hadn't seen any other threads or posts by the banned member, and so you based your opening post - saying the mods here ban for someone's point of view - based on the one or two posts you must have read up to that point. You said you missed the "deficit" thread after searching for it. Twice. I interpreted your italicized "twice" to emphasize a thought that you concluded something fishy was going on, like a mod had gotten rid of it and then replaced it after the fact, or something like that. I could be wrong. I didn't say so because it didn't seem important to me. With the above, Rob's a mod - you basically called him and his cohorts fascists, in so many words ("Orwellian,"), on scant evidence. Did you expect roses? Really?
Each one? Look around. This place is full of banned usernames. If DP can't take the heat, they should leave the kitchen (read: not allow any political or religious discussion). Here is another terrible accusation: I have never addressed someone with "dude" as a mod. Don't worry, browntwn. They will get over this unforgivable crime of mine ... one day ... I hope. Edited: I had but not all his other posts. Enjoy the weekend, guys. Life's too short for these type of discussions.
You take the chance of being banned posting on DP, you take a bigger chance being banned posting in the P&R. I for one would not want the job, of trying to be fair and impartial, yet laying the hammer down when needed. I am an admin on one forum and that's hard enough, this makes my admin duties though look like a cake walk under fairy dust with a full moon and beer in hand .
"Each one" is each of your accusations here, not banned members. You said you hadn't read even this thread, much less any other thread, yet you based your opening post, saying a member was banned for his views, on what you had read - I can only conclude, you based your accusation on the merit of the post or two above yours. You as well (enjoy the weekend).
Dude, you know what your problem is? You're a mod somewhere and you think too much. DP has it's own set of rules, and it asks you to abide by them. Just follow them if you don't want to be banned. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/faq.php http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=515502 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=512154 Above are some good reads, take a look. And do whatever you want, but never, at any cost, call Crazy_Rob Robbie.
"Dude", I'm more concerned about freedom of speech than a stupid account on DP. I've read MUCH worse than this thread in this folder from the opposite criminal Bush-loving view, so I stick with my opinion that ROBBIE is not objective enough for the job, whether you like it or not. He should IMHO resign if he can't take the heat, but it won't happen since he seems to have a lot of friends here, who needed to pm him when I reacted against this ban (freedom of speech). (PS: I don't know the banned guy). I understand trigger happy mod ROBBIE isn't a Bush-lover, but he acts like that clown in the White House. Another red username on DP...
First thread I read after my previous post... TADAAAAA: w3bmaster, + 9000 posts - banned. It's full of banned members here. DP is either a forum for nazis or communists. Digital nepotism ganging together. Freedom of speech!!!
1. I warned you to not to call him Robbie. 2. No one sends PM to anyone, just because a n00b is ranting about anything. 3. Calling a mod clown is the second last thing you should do on a forum. Just curious what forum/s do you moderate? rantingasses.com? j/k 4. If you are a forum mod, I assume you should be very much familiar with how communities work. And you should know that insulting a forum is like insulting it's loyal user base. So you shouldn't have said - "DP is either a forum for nazis or communists. Digital nepotism ganging together." It's not freedom of speech, it's being an assclown. 5. If you have got problems with DP, or you think there are things that should be improved, Go here - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3 and make a suggestion thread. There you can give feedbacks about the Mod/s, and even tell Shawn (the owner) why do you think a mod or mods are not doing the jobs right. 6. If you think it doesn't worth your time, still you are not happy with DP, just leave. Trust me, no-one is gonna miss you.
Need attention much? This wouldn't be a "clown" using a dupe account, would it? Anyway: You level an accusation at the forum, of banning for a point of view. You do this on zero evidence; just your "gut," from all that can be gathered; You have continued your accusation, without contributing any proof; You are needlessly baiting, calling other members names, nazis, communists, etc. Yep, your self-fulfilling prophecy is headed your way, and I'm sure you won't last long. Did you ever consider just leaving, rather than asking for a drama to swirl around you, a grand tragedy of the boot from mum or dad?
