    A PR5 dropping to a PR4 on 72.14.253.xxx

    Edit:

    If you want to modify your Google Toolbar so you can browse using the new values, so you can navigate your site and check subpages without having to query them with a PR tool do this.

    Open your Windows HOSTS file in Notepad which is located in Windows XP at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

    After: 127.0.0.1 localhost

    Add: 72.14.255.17 toolbarqueries.google.com

    Then Save As. It will look like:

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    72.14.255.17 toolbarqueries.google.com

    Now your Toolbar will use this DC for PR queries, after the update just open your HOSTS file and delete the toolbarqueries line you added. I wrote more info here covering hosts file location on other OS's etc.

    I noticed an update for some of my sites that are really new.. they went from N/A to - 0.
    Another site went from pr 3 to 0 but two of my websites haven't changed.. is it still possible for them to change?

    Sorry I'm new to all of this...If I was N/A before and still N/A that means it just didn't update right.

    I assume that even if I don't have a PR it will be 0 instead of N/A once an update occurs?

    I want to know how you people are able to get into DigPageRank. I just get a 10 minute wait followed by a "This page cannot be displayed" error.

    Better yet, I'd like to know how to manually (or programmatically) obtain the PR info directly from the datacenter. What does DigPageRank do to get that info, so I can just do that and check it myself?

    This can't be right - www.webmasterdiscounts.com is showing as an unverified PR3, a site that I haven't touched... :confused:

    I still can't believe I lost all my PageRank. I was hoping for PR4 or maybe even at PR5 if I got lucky. Stupid Google and their stance on selling links. :(

    I've been doing the complete opposite.. avoiding selling links, building natural one-way backlinks and my site is still pr0 even though it has about 12,000 backlinks including pr4, pr3 backlinks :( oh well we always have an update around summer :D

    Wow, that's crazy. You SHOULD have a PageRank - are you sure you're not penalized in some other way? Google has gotten extremely picky.

    I'm just not going to sell anymore DoFollow links, and then I'll go to Google Webmasters and submit for a reconsideration request, and have them review my site once I've made the changes they want. Hopefully that'll do it, if it doesn't, Google just hates me - because I know several other people that have done this after PageRank and SE drops. Well, wish me luck I suppose.

    Good luck with getting a higher PageRank next time for you, too. :)

    Cheers James, your update was a big relief to me, because I'm seeing some internal pages updating to new pagerank, but the homepage is still not updated .. was worried that the homepage didn't change in the last 3 months ..
