Today I saw people trying with no sucess to hook up a projector to a Mac laptop, which totally ruined their presentation. Microsoft forever!

The thing with microsoft is, it is cheap, thats why it is popular, macs only need the software to be compatible with other windows devices. When apple rules, it will be the microsoft users that are the outkasts...

    Apple Forever!

That depends on how MS handles the transition to 64-bit. As it stands right now I couldn't run most of my programs in the 64-bit version of Vista. The odd thing is that if I switched over to OS X I could run my 32-bit windows programs in 64-bit Mac OS X via VMWare Fusion.

Why bother? Sure Vista has it's issues, but in my experience it has been very stable. Not perfect but the only time I have ran into any problems was when i used virtual cd/dvd rom application called magic disc. I switched to dameon tools and all my virtual rom experience has been flawless.

Anyways to get to my main point, every one went thought the same things when XP was released and now look at it. Sure it may not be perfect but niether is OSX. And if your really unhappy with vista I suggest going back to XP SP2 or you could always dual boot a flavor of linux. There is new distro out call vixta which does a great job of mimicking vista.

Very true. Vista is just in the early stages of its life so you can't expect it to run like solid gold just yet. However, I rarely run into any issues so I am enjoying the new OS already. Once they pop out some service packs it will be just like XP SP2...only better. I think the main issue people have with Vista is they have to finally update their crappy computers.

gweb im with you , Cant stand those peices of carp either, i find only artsy fartcy , people with attatuide get those junk just trying to be cool or somthing.

If they were a real users they would use just BSD or switch to linux.
One of our customrs wanted to make the switch so he went and bought a mac at futrueshop and the poor guy what he like to call it had a mac attack, brang it back right away and got an HP with good ol vista.

have u ever used OS X? It's a lot quicker than Vista is, but it comes down to personal preference. XP is still mine.

If Apple becomes dominant, there will be viruses for Mac. Security by being the minority only works so long as you are the minority

    Exactly.
I don't see Microsoft vanishing nor Apple becoming the norm in the near future. I hope the future isn't dominated by Microsoft, but neither do I want a monopoly from Apple, either.

People now seemingly blinded by a "cool" interface, so much so that they don't see Apple's faults. There a more mac followers, but the big dog is still Microsoft. Bill Gates is doing his best to sabotage himself, but XP was by no means a failure by any objective measurement. I also wonder: What will happen if Apple becomes dominant? Suddenly, when people's "oppressed freedom fighters" go from underdogs to the malicious mega corporation I think we'd see a change in tune.

Both of which are almost entirely useless, the name doesn't change anything.

So could I, in Vista. VMware is a piece of software, it works on Windows just as well as on Mac.

It still bogs down on a laptop only a couple of years old.

So just because it is faster makes it the better OS? Doesnt seem very valid argument on it's own.

OSX is like a wether: it looks like a real thing, but something is just missing.

    I dont understand your statement.

For your reference, here is the definition of wether:
I dont see how an operating system is related to that.

Neither. XP SP2 is best on the market for office and home solutions. CentOS4 for servers.

Well, wether looks like a real ram (male sheep), but he isn't very... productive. OSX also looks like a real OS, but when you want to do something with it you will only run into compatibility issues (most of the stuff today is still Windows only) and even when you manage to find something that works on it, it still doesn't feel right.
