Is it worth buying AdWords?

I have a blog. No real way of making money from it unless ad links are clicked by visitors.
So is it worth paying for some adwords to get traffic?

True, you want to bring targetted traffic, not general traffic just wasting away your clicks. Adwords could be very beneficial, if used correctly.

Yes, exactly what GeorgeR said. Adwords is cream of the crop, but expensive as hell. Its best to use some vouchers first before jumping head on.

PPC is expensive, if you don't know how to use it. Read some guides, before spending money.

In my opinion, Adwords is excellent for getting quality traffic.

Yeah should have a £50 voucher on the way.
I take it when it runs out then my ad stops showing and I stop paying?

You can try with a small budget with targeted keywords, you can then decide if you want to invest a bit more. Keep us posted on your results.

I've used adwords and found I got extra traffic, but conversion to sales was nigh on impossible in the targetted market.

Not unless you have a lot of money to burn. You would be better off using ezinearticles.com and some targeted keyword articles to get traffic.

It is worth, even without those vouchers. But it depends a lot on what you are promoting. For me I promote accounting services, the conversion rate isn't superb but each customer tends to stay for a long time, so it is very worth it for me. On the other hand, I have seen Adwords on say web design and web hosting, they cost far far more than accounting Adwords, I do not know how they earn from that.

So from experience Adwords help if you are selling a services or product not related to the Internet because the Adwords for Internet related are already priced beyond their true worth.

You just need to sign up with your Gmail account, then add in a credit card, every month, Google will automatically deduct the amount from your credit card. It is that simple.

You can do what wisdomtool said or you can use "pre-pay billing". You simply top-up your account with money that you are willing to spend and use it until it finishes.

I got my voucher through for adsense. £50 will probably use it later.
I also got a $50 for MSN ads or something.
Any one want to buy it?

You can use your debit card as well, to set up a Direct Debit, but you will need to pay in currency of the country you live in.

For example, you won't be able to set up a DD, if you live in UK and want to pay in US Dollars. But if you pay in UK Pounds, everything will be ok.

Also you can use debit card for pre-pay method of paying.
