have 10k daily unique multilingual arcade and several minisites. I sold one of my arcade last year (100k daily unique). Now new one improving day by day, my tips - Add at least one game a day, stay up to date. - kids are always better than other age groups - Always write something about games on game pages.. webmaster comments, instructions, how to play .. - Be unique, use custom scripts, don't use common scripts - Holidays are so important , use special pages for holidays, -christmas games, halloween games,... - Use bigger sizes for games. - Always be available, fast. ... Also you need some backlinks, seo, advertising
I have 2 new games coming out in the next 2 weeks that I am exclusively sponsoring. I hope I see some good results soon after they on sites like newgrounds.com and many others. I have also started doing game plug exchanges and the results are quite nice. Page Rank is Google's way of showing how reputable your site is based only on the quality and quantity of backlinks. It has hardly any affect on your listing in Google search.
Has anyone ever gotten a copyright violation notice for any of the flash games on their site? I did for the game "Ultimate Flash Sonic" Archbob, I will trade stumbles.
WHAT! That game is all over the web. I have it on all of my sites and I haven't been to a site that doesn't have it for a long time.
Not COMPLETELY related, but: Heres why making a flash game for your site, or sponsoring one is worth it. These are just ads within one game itself and not counting adsense or any other ads on the website. Heres what one game make yesterday: And heres what it's gotten so far this week: And thats just one game I made with in game ads only (about 7% of people who play the game will normally click onto your website. I put a flash intro, and a couple buttons on the menu and game over screen that lead to my site) And this money is for when people play the game on other peoples sites, so thats pretty cool I'm just pretty happy with what it's been making recently. -Kyle
I am taking a flash class starting next week that I hope teaches me a lot of action script and other things needed to make games. I already can draw and animate though. I will be using MochiAds if I start making games.
I am thinking of remaking my arcades. Any one think that buying a script would be good or just stay with the good old av-arcade. Also I need a flippn good host. My current host is down everyday. I think it has been down for atleast since last 4 weeks. I always get returning users on it wat a waste So any good host?
Chuck Norris' lawyers did make a big point of getting some Chuck games removed a while back, but I've not heard of any complaints about Sonic games. As mentioned everybody has that Sonic game...
Yeah, it can be purchased in gamepacks. Hundreds of arcades have the game AND offer an embed code to freely add to your site. It can be downloaded on freeware sites. I don't get it. I tried to contact the owner of Ultimate Flash Sonic, but no luck.
Is having a LOT of games really the key to a successful arcade? Like I don't have that many games, could that be why my arcade is lacking? Is buying a gamepack really bad? Why is that?
I think the answer will depend on who you ask, but the approach I've taken with mine is to hand-pick games that I actually like to play rather than add a game pack of 3000 games of varying quality. Of course, I only have 20 games at the moment and it's going to take a while to get a good-sized collection, but I like having a certain level of quality control. I launched the site just before New Years and I'm getting about 600 page views/day. I also like it this way because it grows the site at a slower, more natural pace. Again, these are just my preferences. YMMV.
There is a Arcade web master resource site out there for us arcade website owners. http://www.arcadewebmasters.com/forum
I own the Valhalla Productions arcade. It's a real small site right now, but hopefully it'll grow once I get it a new domain, upload more games, and advertise some for it
