Hi i have seen a lot of people do this, i have read it in domain news that people buy and sell domains in hours... Is it profitable? I have an ebook that teaches how you can sell your domains daily after setting them up... But i am a rookie and i am not familiar with many of the things As in from where to buy a domain which hosting to use,and from which company(free or paid) Hell i dont even understand how to setup wordpress,,as it asks for my database details and i dont know how to find them i Really want to do this as the book is great and it really explains easy ways that you can use and sell.. ANY SUGGESTIONS???
You can register domains or buy them in forums . Spend some time reading. Hosting you will have to purchase separately
It's a tough business as there are very few buyers and numerous sellers......selling becomes relatively easier if one is holding revenue generating domains and also with close links among industry players....
Hi anuj291, wanna play a friendly round of poker? Seriously, it's similar to winning at poker. It's hard if you are an experienced player and as a rookie you will lose your shirt unless you have dumb luck. The ebook makes it sound like easy money but it isn't. It's like used car lot. The dealer has a 100 cars, some will sell right away, some will take months to sell, and many will never sell. To answer your questions... There are 2 ways to acquire domains - buy new ones from someone like namecheap.com or GoDaddy.com - buy previously registered domains on forums like digitalpoint or namepros, or buy on ebay. (these will more expensive than buying new but you may get a name with better revenue potential) You may or may not need hosting. If you want to develop the websites then you need hosting. Get an unlimited domains account with hostgator.com or iweb.com (or similar) for ~$7.95/month Make sure the account has PHP & MySQL, you will need these to run wordpress or other CMS (content-management system). You probably can't figure out the database details because you are not on a hosting account that has mySQL databases. If you just want to 'park' the domains and get click revenue (and not develop them) until you sell then you don't need hosting but can sign up with sedo.com namedrive.com or similar to park the domains. You may get better returns developing the sites yourself. I hope this helps.
I've bought and sold within couple hours. I've also bought and received good offers by e-mail within a couple days. Depends how good you are at picking and choosing.

It should be approached as a business if you want to make money. A random approach to buying and selling domain names will get you random results and no business wants random results. You should check out www.DomainSellingManual.com it is perfect for you.
It is a tough way to make money, but it is profitable. A previous post said it's like playing poker. I can't stress enough on how true this is. I've made some small change with domains, but I've actually met people who have sold domains for $700,000. I don't know where you live, but my #1 suggestion is find some big players in domain selling that are in your neighborhood and meet up with them. Pick their brain, start a domain event, etc. I've met quite a few heavy hitters in the domain business. They are out there. Now go and find them!!!
There are several different 'spaces' in the domain buying and selling game. Buy expired names to flip for a quick profit Buy quality traffic names to generate ppc revenue or develop a site Buy new names that have to do with new tech, fad, medical, social Recognize a dip in the market of a specific name space (LLL.com, NNN.com etc) Takes research, dedication, luck, and discipline. Don't let anyone tell you that its too late to start because the net is still in its infancy. If you could go back 24 months would you buy G(oo)le for $100 a share? Now get to it!!
