The rage is to put up a charity link for those with excess cash. To me, websites should always be free because there are way too many ways to monetize content without having to charge subscriptions.
The money has nothing to do with it. Such a method would help DP get rid of many spammers that don't contribute with anything worthwhile to this forum.
No. If I have money to give to Digital Point, I'll use the donate page. Requiring the dollar would open up a new can of spam/scammer worms.
If I had the $1, I would pay.. But that would totally be depending on whether I had the money each month.

I would pay too because backlinks that I am getting from my signature are worth more and information that I am getting here is worth millions

ofcourse just about every active member here would, but theres no need. DP's already making loads of money off of ads. it might even hurt them if they charge a buck (many members and guests would leave, thus less clicks on there ads ) besides, shawn wouldn't be mean like that
most kids can get paypal if they have the knowledge (witch what are you doing on a webmaster forum if you dont even have knowledge of what a VCC is) I got a paypal when I was a kid, and my mom never knew. I dont think it would really decrease the kid population here.
Nope, I would simply leave, DP already makes a killing as it is, plus I seem to spend quite a bit on DP anyways... Free is what makes DP attractive. If I wanted to contribute I would donate.
I don't think it would cut down on the scammers one little bit. Most scammers would be happy to pay $1/month. I'd probably pay the fee too, but I don't really think that Shawn needs the extra cash....
