How about if they catch illegals crossing the border, they send them to work on US bases in Iraq and Afganistan? We can even train some of them to fight the taliban and Al Qaeda.

    Another great incentive (or deterrent)!

I know so many Mexicans that have come up are law abiding except for their entry, SS#, fake green card, and ID's. But to them, that is the only way. I wish there was a way to educate them and get them legal, but because of the chaste system in Mexico, some aren't even allowed to get a birth certificate.

Mexico is a big problem. They are exporting there social problems to the US and aren't really open to US land purchases or immigration in Mexico. It's all a one way street.

One of the biggest issues is that medical insurance costs $13,000 for a family of four and education per child is around $10,000 for public school. Just with that you are looking at $23,000 a year.

US is also losing factory jobs at an alarming rate. Today there are only 13 million factory jobs left down from 19 million around 10 years ago.

And it makes sense. But better be inside the US. One mile wide will suffice, and since it won't be difficult to attack, we're talking about coast to coast, and that's long...

A lot of the border land is national parks and federal land. All you need is a wall.

Once you close the border down you'll see how fast that the Mexican government changes its tune.

    Alot but 'not all of'

Personally and I know it would not get support and not happen but I would love to see a 1/2 mile even 'the more the better' buffer zone. If the Mexican government does not want to play ball then we either try to buy this land cheaply from them, or if all else fails we simply take it.

Yes I know it sounds crazy, but this simple minded pandering that's going on in the political circle is not going to change anything.

This could also help with training troops, anyone hear of all the land the US wants to take away from citizens for training? ;)

A heard about that in Colorado. Some of the bases that we have know are under used like Fort Dix in NJ 37,500 acres and Camp Grayling with 147,000 acres.

Mexicans are only half of the illegals. What about the japonese, Korean, Finnish, Irish (40K illegals only in N-Y), French, Brazilian, Australian, English, German, Russian, etc...No wall is needed for them at least...

The imigration problem has a very easy solution. Just the political will is missing there...

Only half, are you sure about that?

All illegals need to be dealt with, even if it was only 1/2 that is still the biggest majority is it not?

We are talking about the Mexican border. There are thousands of armed insurgents supported by corrupt mexican police and army personnel.

The violence is spreading to South Texas and it's clear that the Mexican Army can not control their side of the border.
