If this tool can detect paid links, then Google can too

If you are involved into selling/exchanging links using automated systems like Text Link Ads or ReceiveLinks, check out this free online tool I've completed today:

    Paid Links Detector.

It should find automatically placed links on the page.

So, if this tool can do that, then Google can too :). And Google can do it much better, because they have much more data: historical data, semantic information and so on..

Please post your experience with this tool: was this tool correct, what kind of links (which link broker) it has detected on your site?
Note, that this detector does not handle manually placed links.

If you like this tool, please digg it.

It doesn't detect manually placed links, which would be much more difficult to detect.

It does detect TextLinkAds and ReceiveLinks automated links for my test sites. If you use such an automatic systems you can test it by yourself (otherwise you simple don't need such a detector tool). I didn't test it on the other link exchange systems I don't use (Digitalpoint Coop for example), so I've started this thread to know the feedback.

Well if you want my honest opinion, it's rubbish. Sites that i have never had an external link on in it's life is showing all my internal links as paid. A paid link blog with 25 paid links on the home page and 3 in every article on the main page came up clean.

So it's doesn't even come close to working properly.

I checked your software with these results:
    1. On domain 1 it detected all 5 Receivelinks ads.
    2. On domain 2 it detected internal links as paid and didn't detected the Text Link Ads.
    3. On domain 3 it didn't detected the Receivelinks ads.

Google has been able to detect automated link scripts, link sharing, and paid link schemes for some time. Why do you think the DP Coop is dead? Manual paid links is the only way to go - if you don't want to get caught.

I reproduced the problem on one of your sites and fixed it. The problem was appeared only under specific conditions your site have. Thanks for your feedback, it really appreciated, and this is the reason I post this topic here.

This tool is not a "silver bullet", it detects only automatically inserted links. It seems you have manually inserted paid links in your blog which can't be detected by this tool.

Were those undetected paid links on your site automatically inserted (by ad code script provided by link exchange/selling system)? This tool doesn't handle manually inserted links.

It didn't work at all for me, try again

    google "paid link directory"
then enter any of those links, the tool doesn't pick anything up IMO

Didn't detect any of my paid or automatically generated links on any of my sites. I'm not using Text Link Ads or Receive Links, so maybe the service only detects those two services?

I tested this on some sites I know use TLA and it didnt detect them. Although TLA DOES us a script to AUTOMATICALLY place links on said site..Keep in mind php is SERVER side code..which means the coding or parsing of the code happens on the server end of the site and it outputs HTML code which makes it look 100% manual.

Thanks for all your answers and PMs. After doing some reseach I would admit I was wrong about TLA and this tool doesn't detect Text Link Ads links (sorry for misleading).

So you can give them a try, but note that Google uses much more techniques than this simple tool :).

Currently confirmed link networks whose links are detected: Receive Links, Link Vault and TNX.
