I saw a post in another forum about this, and checked it myself. Perhaps Clickbank made some changes during it's "scheduled maintinece" last night??? If anyone is using direct links to the order page....YOU HAD BETTER CHANGE YOUR LINKS! I realize that most people don't use this link format, but for those who do, it could be a big deal. If you are linking with the format hxxp://[ITEM].[YOUID]_[PUBLISHERID].pay.clickbank.net, to go directly to the order page, this seems to no longer work...as of last night. It could just be a glitch, and it may work again...but personally, I wouldn't take that chance. I have my own theory as to why clickbank would want to stop allowing this...but we will just have to wait and see how it plays out.
"hxxp://[ITEM].[YOUID]_[PUBLISHERID].pay.clickbank.net" That's wrong. The ending has to be "hop.clickbank.net", not "pay.clickbank.net"
Yes...I guess I should have been more specific. They still work, they just don't pass the affiliate id...meaning you (as an affiliate) would not get credit for the sale. And yes...this only applies to people who are linking DIRECTLY to the order page via the link format I listed above.
They really should announce such changes...I bet there are MANY doing ppc with their own landing pages and a direct link to the clickbank order form. This could be very costly if you have a high volume ppc campaign...
They should...but technically, they never actually supported linking this way in the first place. Someone just discovered it, and people started passing it on. There is nowhere in the official Clickbank documentation that says you can link this way. The only supported method os the official hoplink. So, they don't HAVE to announce it because nobody should have been using it...but many people do.
Care to share it with us? I can't think of a reason why clickbank would disapprove this? If the affiliates make a better landing page than the original publisher and it results in more sales -> still more money for clickbank. Maybe some affiliates made landing pages which were too misleading and resulted in high amounts of refunds/chargebacks?
Yes, that is one reason. Shady affiliates could get too creative with their custom landing pages. But also, there are many ebooks out there that talk about how to boost your clickbank marketplace ranking with some creative use of this order page linking method.
Correct, that does not change. The OP is talking about liking directly to the payment page. The hoplink structure did not change.
I have deposited too much in PPC for the PSPBlend Publisher , but haven't got any hoplink ???!!?? I'm really confused !!! I think there is a problem with clickbank's tracking system
Well, I think this is another topic...I doubt your problems are related to this issue. I recommend starting a thread and explaining how you are linking, and what your PPC campaign is like. Most likely one of those is your issue...not a tracking problem.
What I don't get is why would you want to create a pitch page, then make the customer look at yet another pitch page. There should be some room to link directly to the order page, especially with ppc campaigns.
kidlntg "I have deposited too much in PPC for the PSPBlend Publisher" Adwords doesn't allow PSP downloads, so you should stop advertising that before you get suspended.
