Is it worth paying for inclusion in yahoo directory? does this drive much traffic? Or is it worth firing off a free inclusion request and hoping for the best?
It's certainly worth firing off a free inclusion request. It's not going to get you a lot of traffic, but it depends on your business model if it's worth the money to pay for submission.
My website is a niche e-commerce site, so it probably wouldn't fire much traffic my way, any ideas on how I should market it any better?
No need to spend more $ for inclusion....a lot of quality free directory out there that can help your site....the more quality directory, the better the SERP position....so probably that you can have a better traffic through your SERP position...
not anymore - as of 2005 or so, they no longer accept free requests. I'll try to find that statement for you, I know as a fact that I saw it in my member account.
There is lots of promotional resources available use them and you definitely getting traffic form it.
My vote for "NO" I would better spend my money in other advertising methods rather than Y! directory inclusion.
