I have a curious question, If you find blogs with the same Niche/content and leave posts, along with you website link and Anchor text, would this count as a Quality 1-way link?

    I'm wondering the same.

I think if the PR is decent, it'll count as a quality backlink, but I'm not sure.

You bet. Get as many of those as you can. A trick I'll use, which some might disagree with, is when it allows you to put in your own name, make sure you use the anchor text you want as your user name, and where it allows you to enter your website...use the website you want the link to. When you post your comment or message, it will appear with your message, and name which will be your anchor text link.

If it's a nofollow blog, you'll get the backlink but you won't get the PR juice of the blog. If you can find dofollow blogs, even better. A "quality" link is fairly subjective, but if it's a good site, that's related to your topic, you really can't go wrong getting another link.

I would say it would, however a lot of blogs have NoFollow Meta Tag which prevent bots not following that link. Blogs tend to do this to cut down on SPAM.

I heard somewhere that MSN doesn't care about nofollow. Is that true?

thats a very good way to create some related backlinks. but one thing to remember, when you post comments with URL, make sure there are not another 50 something unrelated links on that blog comment or it will be considered as blog spam. and like others said above, make sure its not nofollow. you can vew source on a page and search for the word nofolow. if you see it there, then don;t bother commneting

They exist, but are vanishing due to spammers and people just posting for a backlink. Its sad that people would spam another site to promote their own, but not allow spam on their own sites.

There are easy ways to get a link out that can provide benefits to both the blog and it's poster, but too many are using automated software that post little more then a link, and often on non-relevant blogs. If people wishing to use comments as a means of backlinks the least they could do would be to provide at least some relevant content to the post they are commenting on.

    *sigh*

what i don't understand is why the blog you are leaving a comment on should have the same content as your blog?

does this work better w/google? or is it just a bad idea to leave a comment on a site that has no similarity whatsoever to your blog?

blogs with no no follow will be spidered and if that page has a good pr then you will be accounted as a link back to that site.

The best answer to that question is to ponder the deeper meaning of Applesauce and how that relates to your question.

If I have a blog entry about fixing cars, a comment about dog grooming for one will likely not get approved from the queue, and two it ads nothing (nada, zip, zilch) to the original entry. Anyone reading my automotive blog is likely not going to car about how well their poodle is groomed, as chances are they don't even have a poodle. Such non sequitur posts are the exact definition of spam, as they have nothing to do with the original content and are completely and totally disruptive to the flow of any possible conversation.

It would not take much for google to figure out that a dog link in a car blog does not fit either.

i could understand if the blog post was about cars
but the blog comment was about a poodle
and the link was about poodles

but what if the actual blog comment is relevant to the blog post?
if the blog post was about cars
and the blog comment was about cars
but the link was about poodles

would that still be frowned upon?

It depends on the quality of blog. If the blog is related to your site and the blog has quality post with related contents I think it helps and can be consider as quality links.
