Anyone else annoyed with these CB fees :)

I mean wow the fees at CB are really expensive as a vendor...

But I guess the advantage is that you get an instant source of hungry aff's...

Anyone got any ideas on how we can combat the CB fees?

I'd be interested to hear some ;)

Have you tried other networks? CB is actually one of if not the cheapest. $50 to setup, and 7.5%+ $1 is VERY reasonable if you ask me. CJ - 3k-5k to setup, and up to 30% from your aff earnings, others are also up there. You CAN run multiple offers/products and domains from one account however I find the $50 setup to be a GREAT alternative to the other networks. HOWEVER I will also say that CB has the largest newbie affiliate pool compared to the others, i.e. Share Results or CJ are known to have a much better affiliate pool and plenty more super affiliates, but as far as fee's go, CB is amazing in my opinion. Sorry for the difference in opinions but until you try all the popular networks it is difficult to quantify your claim. You should be able to make back your investment on your first day/launch easily if you market your launch properly.

50$ to setup is nothing compared to what you are going to earn, if you do everything right.

I had done a couple months of reading before I put up my first clickbank product/s and I've grossed over 100x my initial investment already. Just to note, I had a very small budget at the beginning too. My advise is to read until you can't keep your eyes open anymore, don't be afraid to ask questions and do things the right way and that $50 set up fee will be covered in your first week.

I think the 1$+7% fees should be shared 50-50 between vendor and affiliate.

I disagree. Every successful affiliate makes you money without you having to do any additional work. Vendor's also set the product price and the commission rate so that the vendor's profit margin can be adjusted to cover those costs if necessary.

Note that most product niches have multiple products for an affiliate to choose from. Keep an affiliate's incentive and interest in promoting your product high and you will make more money in the long run.

No way, the affiliates are doing the real work bringing in sales. That is where the vendor gets to set the affiliate rate at, and leave it up to the affiliates to accept.

I'm pretty happy with the way it is. $50 is nothing, if you can't make that then you shouldn't have a product.

I agree with the others here--- Clickbank is wonderful BECAUSE it is affordable and effective.

And look at all Clickbank DOES-- they process credit card transactions for you, they attract affiliates, they handle returns, they advertise for you on their marketplace pages, they have an A+ customer support system.... and they mail you a very pretty check every two weeks....

...and they still let you keep well over 90% of the money the customers pay for the product.

How can you complain about a good system like that?
