Hey Guys, In you profesional opinions, How much would 110mb.com sell for? Would be interesting to know. Thanks
Well it depends on how much revenue it is bring in monthly. Typically, you can value a company at 3-8 times earnings.
No I am not the owner, Just interested in how much a website like 110mb.com could sell for? I am thinking of going into the Free hosting industry, But still not definate. 110mb.com seems to be the leader in this area at the moment!
have you thought about checking out domain auctions on godaddy.com? send me a message and i will send you the link!
As stated earlier it depends on the revenue their bringing in, costs, and growth. It is likely worth something but IF they're not making a profit it's not much. In short, it's hard to say though I think free hosting is a rough business to make a profit in.
I doubt many established sites or companies would sell at that price though. That kind of calc is more for fledgling or struggling websites.
I have to agree with you there xenyo, I would be very suprised if a website making $500 a month will really sell for $5000 to $12,000!
Right. Do not fall for people telling you less for revenue. Just because they are a cheapskate with no money, doesn't mean your site is worth less. Much too vague a question. The site's revenue, their domain (age, seo) also plays into it, as well as any number of other things. Like the type of site, members, traffic, etc. I guess the hard fast rule for you would be get as much info as possible, then post, and ask the questions. 2 cents
A website is worth whatever someone is willing to give you. Sure there are basics that contribute backlinks, monthly revenue, traffic, etc but that can all be pretty irrelevant if the buyer desperately wants the name. How many times have you heard guys getting super rich selling their domain name to a big cooperation because the cooperation desperately needed the name website.com. 4 or 5 is lowballing the calculation in my opinion. Most people would tell you 7 times it. For me I'd do 10 or even 15 times the revenue for your site to calculate its value. There isn't and won't be right answer to this question though.
Yes, thats true a website is worth what ever somone is willing to pay for it. But there are other major factors that you should know: Trademarks Is any word within the domain or any part of the domain trademarked in any way and in any trademark class or sub class in your or any other country you want to use that name or word at or in? if yes prepared to be eventually sued you ass OFF! If your site starts making good revenue. you may be liable to pay it all back to the respective trademark owner. "This includes the country you are hosting the site at". While it is also unlikley you will be sued, once you hit a certian revenue point and if a tradmark owner starts to get itchy about it. start saying good buy to your site. Laws vary from country to country too so be carfull! Domain name If the domain name has 4 or less characters it is considered more valuable. this does not include: _ or - or numbers and words combined. Revenue yes, revenue is a major factor. Ive seen sales of $100 per month sites with minimal or no work selling for around $1200 to $3000. Traffic traffic helps too there are probably another few factors but the above in order are your most important. Good luck!
There is an easy way to find out the worthiness of a website. Just fill the url in the space provided at http://www.dnscoop.com and it will analyze the PR, age of the site, number of backlinks and will provide the sale value in dollars.
Yeah but sites like www.dnscoop.com dont take into account the revenue of a website! I just put in 110mb.com URL and it values it at $6,678,000 Maybe its just me, but is that not quite a high estimate?
