    Hello,

After searching on this forum for a dedicated server, I finally made a decision to go with The Planet for a dedicated server. I do have some confusing about their plans.

    Option1: Intel Pentium 4 Series 2.4+ Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz+ 80GB Hard Drive 512 MB RAM 750 GB 5 $89.00

Option2: Dual Xeon Series - IDE Intel Dual Xeon 2.8GHz Processor 2 x 80GB Hard Drive ECC Registered 2048 MB RAM 2500 GB 10 $259.00

My websites do not have any video, so which option plan should I go with?

    Thanks.

Those are drastically different plans. The question simply comes down to what are your needs? (bandwidth, site activity, etc)

I need about 200 GB bandwidth a month. HD does not matter since I don't have much. What plan should I use? My other question is:

is Pentium 4 Series 2.4+ and Dual Xeon Series different alot in website speed?

    Thanks.

The true difference can be noticed when there are multiple requests and a lot of visitors where the xeon can show its class in number crunching.

Since bandwidth is of utmost importance other than everything else you should go for plan 1.

    For IP addresses, they have:
    5 IP Addresses - Mo. Fee/Setup Fee: ($0.00/$0.00)
Upgrade to 13 IP Addresses - Mo. Fee/Setup Fee: ($8.00/$0.00)
Upgrade to 29 IP Addresses - Mo. Fee/Setup Fee: ($24.00/$0.00)

If I have more websites in the future, which plan should I pick?

    Thanks.

i don't think IP address's should be an issue, you can host multiple sites on a single IP, however if you need a dedicated SSL then you need an IP per site.

So, I will go by default. I read on this forum that each website with different IP will be better in terms of SEO and scrawled from search engines, but I might be wrong.

    Thanks.

If you are selling links it its better from a SEO/SERP's point of view to have them on differnet IP address's but they need to be different class C IP's thats the third set of numbers in the ip number.

For this plan of dedicated server, Option1: Intel Pentium 4 Series 2.4+ Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz+ 80GB Hard Drive 512 MB RAM 750 GB 5 $89.00
What do you think about this plan with 13 shared hosting accounts?
Because I can buy 13 shared hosting accounts from $89.
    Please advice.
    Thanks.

I have a similar spec server with hostgator, currently running about 30-40 sites on it, blogs, directories, ecommerce and it still going strong so if you have enough sites go for the dedicated server. Just make sure the company has good online support.

I read some good comments about hostgator. For my personal experience when using shared hosting with them, I don't like the way that they shut down your websites without noticing you first, when you overused the resources, etc...

This plan I am about to sign up is from The Planet that offers only $89/mo compare with $174/mo from hostgator. And, Hostgator is the Planet's reseller so I think it is better to sign up directly from the Planet.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi

If budget is your main problem i could set you up 13 accounts on my server for $3 per account depending on the types of sites and the amount of resources they would use, send me some info on the sites you currently have if your interested.
