don't pay him, take the negative iTrader and give him one back.

if i needed an article written and the spelling and grammar was lousy, i wouldn't pay either.
you haven't named this person yet.

I FULLY agree with this, as the person may have done this before, and likely will do it again. Now imagine if it did happen before and the person paid him... that is likely the cause for him not having the red itrader that's deserved.

Save the next person the hassle of losing money, and if more people will give itrader where it's deserved maybe there will be less scamming here on DP.

Many people do not bother to even check, and of those that do, I would hope they look at both sides of any reds seen. I know I would...

    With who ?
Noobs who don't know enough to research you themselves and are likely going to cause you similar headaches ?

Tell him to go piss up a rope, if he becomes a pest you can rest assured someone will deal with him.

// Edit -- Now that I think about it, telling him to "piss up a rope" is probably a bad idea with him being from India. If I rememeber right they do some sort of magic trick with ropes there & he'll probably take offence.

Firstly, I'd like to inform you guys that I'm from India. And I'm not here to defend that asshole who blackmailed the OP by any means.

I saw a fellow member stating that the OP should have checked the credentials of the person and now that he's done his job, you might as well pay him and all that. I say, it's not your fault at all. You mentioned clearly that you need top quality articles; right? Despite that, the guy has come up with pathetic articles, which could mean only two things.

    1. He doesn't understand the intricacies of English for fuck's sake and thought his English was good enough to do your job.

    2. He thought he could get away with producing some third grade English composition kind of stuff and even get paid for it.

Either which way, you need not pay him at all. I say, teach him a lesson which he'll never forget. Name that person in this thread, report him to the mods, give him a negative itrader, post a couple of those masterpieces he produced in this thread, and make sure no one else EVER gives him a job here in DP.

i'm just curious, but how much did you offer to pay anyways? i suggested you pay him anyways, but if it's top money i'm not sure i'd stick by that statement. when going for the 'bargain' i believe in you get what you pay for. if you offered to pay for quality then you deserve quality and certainly shouldn't expect anything less.

There's one point that you people should note here though.

If the OP pays him, the guy will probably gain confidence in the fact that he can get away with poorly written articles.
DON'T Pay him. Let him do whatever he pleases. Don't respond to him, add him to your Ignore List, etc.
Atleast he'll realize that you cannot get away with crap stuff..!!

    The sentence speaks for itself...

    Quality English, I'm sure

Sadly 70% of the crap writers in the Content Creation section seem to be Indian... there are a few of us that deliver quality though... ;)

    Amen to that.

I think DP should develop somekind of Karma thing for the Content Creation board, otherwise quality writers are just extremely hard to find --
and vice-versa for writers, who can't find a client because of the flood of threads.

They do, it's called iTrader...which is why I suggested that you give him some red and take some yourself if that is needed. It has to start someplace, and if we all start to use it, then it'll actually weed out these types of members.

Red repping helps to an extent, but signing reps and reciprocating has just killed that as a true measure of worth. iTrader on the other hand is more open and can still be an effective tool...but we MUST start to use it.

Rubbish. This man alone cannot ruin a whole country's work ethic or reputation.

OP, do not pay. Simple. Don't worry about his retaliation. He is not ALLOWED to post in your sales threads unless he is buying or selling in a trade with you in that thread. All comments not directly related to the specific sale can be removed if reported to the DP moderation team.

Before leaving his bad itrader, DO post in the thread about your dealings with him, and DO link directly to that post when you do the itrader. In the itrader statement, state "SEE THIS THREAD"...

    Hope this helps.

Screw him. No one's gonna listen to him. If he claims he's a writer with that sort of a command over the language, it's time for him to go back to school to learn the ABC of English.
